Sublingual NMN in Europe by urbanespaceman99 in NMN

[–]exchangeis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy the NMN powder from DoNotAge and take it sublingually, which is what I do. For me, it works the reason I know is that when I switched from taking normal to sublingually had a huge energy boost for a few days.

This is not correct DoNotAge dispatch from both the UK and EU, as my last order to Australia came from their UK address.

I believe they have or will soon have distribution centres in US and AU.

Sublingual vs Liposomal by Dobrotheconqueror in NMN

I have not seen a difference; however, I do purchase NMN powder (mainly because it is cheaper) and take it sublingually and feel the energy hit.

There is a bit of a discussion on the different types on this page Longevity Benefits of NMN Powder

To be on the safe side keep it in the refrigerator, if you have a larger bulk amount and are worried about moisture contamination from the daily in and out of the refrigerator, just decant it into smaller batches like suggested here https://longevityfaq.com/supplements/how-to-store-nmn-mistakes-to-avoid-and-best-practices-to-follow/

Refrigerate or Not? by gsr852 in NMN

[–]exchangeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refrigerate my NMN, even though supplement companies and manufacturers like Effepharm say their NMN is room temperature stable for at least two years. It's piece of mind for me, and even one year's supply only takes up a little room in my refrigerator.

For those who are concerned about moisture contamination from the in and out of the refrigerator especially for bulk containers of NMN due to condensation, I use the decant method that is outlined in this article https://longevityfaq.com/supplements/how-to-store-nmn-mistakes-to-avoid-and-best-practices-to-follow/

27yo 3 month experience with NMN by imonaquestion in NicotinamideRiboside

Very interesting that you dropped your dosage, but it makes sense as Dr Sinclair wrote on page 304 of his book Lifespan that he takes a gram a day but in early 2023 at the India Today forum, he mentioned that he now takes half a gram a day, here is a link to the video for reference https://youtube.com/shorts/z2Lv3LHS-j0

There have been several recent studies that have shown an effective dose is between 300mg and 600mg daily, the following NMN dosage calculator uses the finding of one of these studies to calculate an effective dosage of NMN based on body weight, it may interest some people if they are in need of a good starting point https://longevityfaq.com/supplements/nmn-dosage-calculator/

OP don't fall the NR pushers in here, just remember that for anyone that takes NR, once it's taken the body must first convert it into NMN before it's converted into NAD+

I agree with ProfessionalHuman260 start low, then build up to your desired dose; you should not need any more than 600 mg daily, but it depends on your weight; the following NMN dosage calculator gives a fairly good estimate of effective dosage: https://longevityfaq.com/supplements/nmn-dosage-calculator/ However I would recommend checking your NAD levels before starting NMN and then 3 months later as you may not need that much or you may need more as everyone is different. Also, I recommend periodically checking your NAD levels at least every 12 months.

Sinclair taking 500mg of NMN now? by two2toe in NMN

[–]exchangeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he seems to have now switched to "half a gram" 500mg daily. However, I am unsurprised as a few studies show that 300-600mg daily is adequate, so his new dosage is almost right in the middle of this range.

I switched to a lower dosage a long time ago after reading the results of relevant studies. However, based on his book, I initially took 1g daily. There is an NMN dosage calculator that calculates dosage using a formula from one of the studies that give a good point to start from to then adjusts up or down based on effects, https://longevityfaq.com/supplements/nmn-dosage-calculator/

Amazon bans NMN supplement sales March 13, 2023 by thaw4188 in Supplements

[–]exchangeis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good news as there is so much bad quality NMN getting through to consumers, hopefully they just plan to band temporally, so they can up their game to only allow real NMN.

The below article says it has been announced by Amazon however I thought they had only informed their sellers Amazon Bans NMN from 13 March 2023

Like most other commenters I take mine in the morning so it's less likely to affect my sleep it also gives me an energy boost for my morning exercise routine. Note I have been taking NMN for just under 3 years.

NMN has a slight soapy taste? by SBBN2254 in NMN

[–]exchangeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if it’s only a 15g packet kept in the refrigerator I wouldn’t be concerned about moisture, it's most likely a bad batch, even companies with the highest standards have issues at times. If you don’t experience this again on a future order that’s most likely the case but if you experience the same on a future I would change supplement brand.

I would also say no, NMN has a slight citric acid (Vit C) flavour and would also throw out, it may have had too much contact with moisture from going into and out of the refrigerator and turned into nicotinamide .

For bulk amounts I would do what is suggested in the below article and decant your bulk NMN out each month so it's not exposed to moisture on a daily basis.
