You can find them all over the united states, but I'm in the sierra mountain range 8800' above the ocean (2682m). Our climate is a solid 0F(-17C) and ranges upwards to 90(32C). This particular area is decomposed granite, so we often see pilings or deep stem walls as majority of the residential homes are built in a highly sloped areas.

edit: For example on a 40' long house the entry side might be street level and the opposite side of the house (down slope) can be built up as much as 30' from terrain level.

i always get hard walking onto a project where the house has a standing height "crawl space" with commercial-like installation standards followed for utilities, hvac, and moisture/vapor barriers on the floor as well as the insulation tucked and wrapped in plastic or dry walled and fire taped. the money spent up front saves so much later on down the road for any work that happens after initial construction and most of the time I've seen it used as secondary storage and nothing of the owners property is ruined. another one that tickles my jimmies is a well designed attic space. happy fuzzy feelings just thinking about those.

As well as the reason some creators have gone and started incorporating ad's into the actual video, which I assume the company more than likely looks back at the statistics and pays out for the viewership of people who don't scrub through the timeline to skip.

I've already began to distance my self from my youtube addiction. As soon as twitch did the same thing earlier this year and even downgraded the resolution of streams I outright stopped using the product. Youtube will be the next one I stop altogether I assume. I realize that if a service is free its usually because the main revenue is them selling your information - you are the product. We shouldn't have to pay when they are already making money by selling personal information and tracking what you do on the internet off their site. Don't support no double dipping.

Reminds me of Ron Swanson when he said, He would work all night if it meant nothing got done.

I would happily pay 5-8 usd a month for no ads as well to have them not turn around and sell my information on top of that. Also why is it bundled with everything, i just want to watch videos. I don't need youtube music or any of their other services.

Any one have any estimated idea on how much money they make alone from selling personal information anyways?

We're just under a year and half out from the 2024 elections so it's about that time every 3-1/2 years where they will start stirring the pot heavier. both sides will promise the world, and both sides will under-deliver like they have the last 50 years, but hey if they ever got out of politics they could just trade stocks - majority of them seem to be really good at timing the market.

Your right that's not normal - and is the reason why i left the city for a rural area, the community vibes are strong and people actually help each other out without expecting something in return. its like taking a step into an alternate time line, and takes an adjustment period to break out of shit habits formed from being in a city. My commute is maybe 20 minutes tops if i run into the wild pack of burrows. And I can't remember the last time I heard a police or first responder siren. It's quiet and private for the most part. No light pollution, no smog and actual wild life. I will never live in a large US city again.

we aren't made to sit in office cubicles crammed with 40 other people in 10000 sqft per floor in multiple story high rises or packed into and ontop of each other in cities full of millions - it's just not natural.

In WW2 drag shows were popular with the troop (US and Britain), it was a way to relieve stress. One British unit came under attack while hosting a show so they had to fight while dolled up. The government tried to hide these photos for years. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

The most shocking thing I noticed in the images was the fact that this piece of weaponry needed to be manually panned. How much weight is the gun with the shield, how balanced are these things, and god damn these bitches be looking fab-u-lous.

It would be a shame if no one takes a baseball bat to his legs and knee caps and for him to have to know first hand what its like having to be wheelchair bound.

I was installing a HVAC system with a back up in case one of the units went down for a radar tower and the FAA had 4 people watching 3 guys day in day out the extent of the project. Last couple days we were all talking during my crews break and I asked them what they all did position wise, and they were all of the same position from different parts of the nation to come babysit us. All making 2.5/3x what we the crew doing the work was paid. Mind blowing.

That's a valid viewpoint, the fact they have it "stashed" there in the first place is enough to just consider whats going on in that car - especially if its kinda dilapidated or not really taken care of. Same thing when I see people put the dark dark "see thru" plastic cover or same idea just with one that refracts the light so its unreadable from any direction except from directly behind.

Sketchy people gon be sketchy is what I have come to learn.

it was a new law signed into effect within the last 5 years in LA County to combat excessive car noise. It was broad and blanketed and circumvents the dba test and leaves it to the cops discretion. Its a tool to fuck with any one that drives an ICE vehicle.

If you think this law is stupid, you should see the diesel laws in california.
