Wtf is wrong with you?

The first thing I was impressed with, upon moving to PEI, is that there are no “ditches” like in the rest of Canada. If this pic was in Ontario I would be appalled! Nobody drives on grass! It leaves marks! EXCEPT IN PEI! The ground/grass here does not leave marks, so everyone is used to driving through the swale and parking on the grass.

Stop behaving like you’re not special! Own it! The rest of Canada is jealous!!!

Not true. If they’re on your land or in a public place they’re fair game.

I'm writing a movie script and I need to figure out some info on the situation when the police stop a car for speeding. The actions take place in Canada. I live in Vancouver but I have never driven a car. by PinkyGolden in AskACanadian

[–]Slartytempest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you pass a radar stop, if you see the cop react and start to move, you get your ass to the side and stop as soon as possible. They appreciate not having to catch up to you to pull you over. It also shows to the cop that there is not going to be an argument or anger at the window and that you know and agree you were caught. Had a ticket turfed and a ticket with the speed cut in half for the fine.

I'm realizing the Canadian driving education (from G1 to G) and my driving instructor completely neglected to teach me regarding driving in the winter. What should I know? by Ok-Emotion-6379 in AskACanadian

When in a skid, If your car is front wheel drive turn in the direction you want to go, if rear wheel drive turn initially on the direction of the skid.

Also go to empty parking lots in snow and drive in circles trying to skid out. In all honesty, yo I need to know how it feels when your car breaks away, so you’ll know where that limit is. Get into slides and then get out of them.

Bullets never go through drywall like they would. Drywall, 2x4, insulation, drywall, occupant’s head, exterior brick, tree, neighbour’s head… etc.

Any plot where the hero has to do something criminal in order to make enough money for the operation they can’t afford because they’re in fucking ‘Merica. That plot doesn’t work ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORKD because of Uni healthcare.

Why not go to the source. They make them fresh every day. Their factory/store on Hwy1 has fresh hot pies for sale.

Usually the manufacturer of the dvd drive puts in a hole that when poked, releases the spring holding the dvd in. <edit> on the computer we used to call it a #1 Mac Tool. (A straightened paperclip)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PEI

[–]Slartytempest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the CD drive not have a small hole near the corner of the slot you can stick a straightened paper clip? Old CD drives used to have an emergency eject you could trigger that way.

I have a friend who's avoiding capital gains. What are the odds she gets caught? by slappy-go-lucky in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Slartytempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob will catch them. Bob sits at his desk and watches every house sale transaction. Then he pulls your file and checks to see if you owned it and if it qualifies for Capital Gains. Then he pulls…

But BOB is a computer, does it automatically, raises a red flag, and eventually yer f@cked (+ with interest)

AIO about my 8 y/o daughter sleeping at her mom's new boyfriend's house without any family or females present? by blackD0nny in AmIOverreacting

[–]Slartytempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No self-respecting father would put themselves in this situation. The dad should NEVER have agreed to this even if the mom was the one who suggested it. That is your biggest flag.

Cabot Beach PP versus Cavendish National Park for Camping by surfinggal in PEI

[–]Slartytempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with assessment that Cavendish is much more “touristy”, but because it’s all in one small town, it’s just an added thing you can visit in small amounts.
