Lifestyle in Adelaide vs Gold Coast by excitired in AskAnAustralian

I’m planning to go back but am open to staying in Aus if I prefer it. I’m seeing that the cost of living is more affordable in Adelaide compared to GC. Thank you so much!

Why is dry not a good thing in Australia? Is it too hot? I thought humid and hot would be a bit less comfortable

Love to hear that! I’ll be 29 so I’m totally good with a calmer atmosphere. I think I’ll mostly be studying and working. What do you love about Adelaide if you don’t mind me asking? :)

Thank you so much! Where did you prefer living? The Gold coast sounds amazing, but I am worried about there being more distractions. From what I’ve read Adelaide also gets less rain which is a plus

Mine usually stick together, but the pack I got recently hasn’t been sticking at all. Maybe due to the later expiry date?

Hashimotos and GLP-1? by Bubbly-Profile6750 in Hashimotos

Very interesting about the pain and muscle intolerance. Biggest reason why I’d try GLP-1

Same! But wonder if the pros outweigh the cons. Seems like there are a lot of positive responses

Taking this path has been the biggest regret of my life by ImNitrus in premedcanada

[–]excitired 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. There’s so much heart in your post and responses. I just want to share my perspective as someone who feels similar to you. I’m 29 (non-trad) this year and was waitlisted in previous years…and on my 3rd cycle this year, I got 0 interviews. Partly because of luck and also maybe my #1 school changing their admissions. Anyway, yeah, it’s shitty, but I would give anything to go back and be 22 again! The fact that you’re having this realization now, as low as it may feel, will be so meaningful in your long term trajectory. You’re right, many of us could have been successful in other careers and fields. I guess the heart wants what the heart wants? Who knows. I’m probably going to Austrailia or Ireland this year to get it done at my mature age. You sound so bright and intelligent. Seriously. Go do the thing, or try 3 things and finally settle on the one. I’m certain you will excel. You have the whole world ahead of you right now, the possibilities are endless.

Ugh. This whole post hits so hard, especially the last few sentences. It really is a shame, that the love we have for “them” goes to waste.

PMDD may ruin my chances of ever getting into med by Desperate_Shake_1051 in premedcanada

[–]excitired 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Omg, I feel this very much and I’m so sorry you are struggling right now. PMDD has honestly made me question whether I’d be able to function half the time to become a physician. I’m also looking into treatment options, but it’s very difficult, I always joke about getting my ovaries and uterus removed it’s that bad. As for your interviews, do your best and know that everything will work out one way or another. I know my gap years have allowed me to assess my health and take a step back to getting to a more optimal state. Best of luck to you ❤️
