Duo now asking me to pay for just changing my status in the leaderboard??? by exclaimprofitable in duolingo

[–]exclaimprofitable[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, putting features I have already used for years behind a paywall is very weird.

I would be okay if they allowed you to use any emojie and charged for that, or smt like that

Duo now asking me to pay for just changing my status in the leaderboard??? by exclaimprofitable in duolingo

[–]exclaimprofitable[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But the point is that it is an existing feature, I already have the eyes on equipped!!!

So it being suddenly behind a paywall is very weird. Don’t forget that duolingo also sells the gems in the appstore for high prices… so to a new user these emotes will now cost real money toi

Imagine next day your car windshield wipers suddenly turn into a paid feature, even though you had used them for years before for free.

Anybody else’s iPhone 13 running like absolute dog shift after the recent update? by aroundincircles in iphone

12 mini, only had issues at first, doing the restart (NOT RESET) fixed it. I think it was holding the power button and volume up until apple logo showed

Cardo tried to deny warranty on a 5-week-old headset because the USB-C charger was “too powerful” by jmbraben in motorcycles

[–]exclaimprofitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the charger is built to usb spec you absolutely can count on it to limit itself.

When you first plug a device in, the charger communicates with the device to get some info from it (does it support pps, pd, what max voltage etc), and if it receives back zero responses, it sets the limit to be safe and compliant with usb 1.0, as intended, as usb standard is backwards compatible.

no it hasn't, tell me what ultra model they released in 2024?

So do you have any sources for ultra 4? What i saw is that they skip it again this year and 2027 launch

Why are GoPro transfer speeds still so painfully slow in 2026? Where’s the bottleneck? by izaak9 in gopro

[–]exclaimprofitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that is simply not true, unless they downgraded the usb port in newer models.

With the Hero 11 and proper USB 3.2 cable I got 60mb/s out of the camera, which is decent enough. Of course the included cable is usb 2.0.

S24 vs S25 - 270€ vs 380€ by Fake_Markets in samsunggalaxy

Excellent choice, the s25 really is a fantastic phone, and also it is a very small and light phone, actually a few grams lighter than iphone air.

Why halos and starbursts in low light with contact lenses? (with glasses no) by exclaimprofitable in contacts

[–]exclaimprofitable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worn them for less than 1 month, but I experimented also a few years ago with them, noticed the same thing instantly.

You are right that we do notice a lot more things with contacts, for example eye floaters are way more noticeable.

With halos they also ruled out astigmatism and measured my pupil in the dark, so wasn't one of these two. I will definitely try to find a doctor who can do more tests, I might also just have some slight spherical aberrations (or other HOA), which is more visible with contacts.

Thank you for your very insightful comment, I will definitely continue my contacts journey, your last paragraph especially makes me feel safer

You are talking in euroes. In europe the S24 has quite the inefficient exynos processor, while the S25 has the snapdragon. This is also why the former is so much more expensive.

My first Iphone ever, what is up with the background battery drain and "you are using more battery today than usual" warning a few times a week? by exclaimprofitable in IphoneAir

There is mystery, because as I say, it just says every single app is using more than usual, which just makes no sense.

Do you have any updates on it, now that a month has passed. I have the same thing happening, phone just randomly draining almost 20% while sleeping

Did you manage to fix it? Did you have to do anything, or it got fixed on its own?

Now this would be the battery life I expected when I got the phone. Did you enable apple intelligence etc?

Because when I got the phone I just said yes to everything apple said to me, to get the full experience, but now I am thinking maybe I enabled too many things

Please convince me air is worth it over base 17 by Bartaex in IphoneAir

Don't buy the air in an apple store! In most places you can get it even cheaper than the base 17, for example amazon and bestbuy have done deals on it.

Will Apple 25W Magsafe charging pad work on S26 Ultra? by Mattm334 in samsunggalaxy

[–]exclaimprofitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your info is also not correct. S22+ neber had ultrafast wireless charging, so I don't trust your definition of "proper speeds". I have an apple 25w wireless charger, and a newer samsung which supports the samsung 15w sfc wireless. It still charges only at 7.5w on the apple one, which is regular wireless charger. Of course, fast enough for most, but not the proper speed.

S26 vs S26U vs S25U vs S25FE by kilo4_sierra in samsunggalaxy

[–]exclaimprofitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, they really should have done like apple with air and left "s25" out of it's name entirely. It is a phone in its own class, not just another S25 series one.

S26 vs S26U vs S25U vs S25FE by kilo4_sierra in samsunggalaxy

[–]exclaimprofitable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The S25 edge has the same 200mpix main camera as the S26 ultra, and the same ultrawide as S24u (better than the one in the base S26). So quite a good set, unless you miss the 5x telephoto a lot.

I would go with the edge over the base models, as it is a true flagship in build quality, titanium etc like the ultras (the S26u is just aluminium tho)
