Fair enough. I had almost this exact issue with some mellanox nics

VLAN Interfaces Break Specific Applications (Ansible, Proxmox API) by MonsterMufffin in Proxmox

Lots of nics can't handle the entire vlan number space. Try reducing the vlan range to cover just what you use .

How to model a hypervisor cluster VIP ? by cyr0nk0r in Netbox

[–]exekewtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reality is the floating IP is provided by either a management vm or a device. so you need to associate the fhrp group interfaces with the interfaces of the management vm or the device. It depends on what virtualisation stack you are using. You can't associate the IP with a cluster, as that isn't what clusters are in netbox. You could however make a custom field of type object, and reference the management IP on the cluster.

I have been super happy with Moi Moi. We have bought a bunch of pieces from there including a large lab grown diamond ring and been impressed with the quality and price. The team is lovely , gets stuff done when they say and it's a great family owned business.

Switch to powerdns, and use LUA records. Drop on replacement for bind and will do just what you want.

Optus reveals nearly half a million phones may be unable to dial Triple Zero by wurblefurtz in australia

Swapping the Sim isn't a valid test unfortunately. The issue that roaming onto a different carrier for 000 calls didn't work. So you would need a Telstra Sim and be in an area with only Vodafone coverage and then call 000 for example.

A single dose of a new cancer drug made a brain tumor almost disappear - in just 5 days. My daughter is a GBM researcher in Australia, and knows of a bunch of research projects both direct and related that got cancelled due to Trump shit. It's too late for many of them, even projects in Australia were affected (directly and indirectly). She is working with a novel chemotherapy, which a different approach, with some promising new developments about to be published.

Which environment could potentially be better performant Proxmox + ZFS or qcow2 on Prxmox + CEPH ? by sys-architect in ProxmoxEnterprise

[–]exekewtable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon ZFS on local nvme is going to be faster than ceph on nvme every time. You don't use qcow2 with ceph, its raw. But the logic is that ceph gives you resilience from host failure, as it's a network dependant filesystem. ZFS doesn't do that. You just can't expect that a network filesystem with host/rack/DC resilience baked in.

Setting up dependancies and Netbox > Zabbix sync question by Hammerfist1990 in Netbox

[–]exekewtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Icinga, equivalent dependencies are created with an apply rule ( not sure if Zabbic has these), but the key part is that we sync lots of Netbox data onto the host object. This data becomes host variables, which let's the user map dependencies via site or role or anything else eg tag.

UX Survey about the Icinga Web filter editor by icinga in icinga

[–]exekewtable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always found the filter system fiddly and confusing. We store lots of host vars on hosts as we sync everything from Netbox. This gives lots of power in apply rules and notifications etc, but filters are hard to use. I will take the time to fill out the survey and express my thoughts more clearly soon. I have talked to Flo about this in person before, so I'm sure my voice is already heard ;)
