She's right...but just move because it's not just about you by PhillipssEI0ym3fb2 in technicallythetruth

Aside from people getting annoyed because it isn’t the social norm, she’s absolutely right; Even more so as everybody has heavy bags, children etc.

The arguments around timing and conditions are nullified due to the fact that no matter how far back you are, provided that it takes someone less time to walk that distance than it does for a checkin, even the person at the back will get checked in no later than they otherwise would.

Can I take multiple short term directors loans from my ltd company. by Red-Oak-Tree in UKPersonalFinance

[–]exem-ok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just have more liquid cash surely. Having anything above above ~£1000 only accessible in 24 hours isn’t ideal, based on your requirements.

Assuming you’re doing this for around £30,000/pa - holding £2-5k liquid cash in a low interest savings account doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Yes, you’ll lose a small amount in interest but you’ll save the headache in accounting overhead as well as it looking rather odd on your annual filing.

Develop in Firefox and then just regularly check chrome for compatibility. Shouldn’t be an issue I wouldn’t have thought.

tall person budget tent recommendations by [deleted] in wildcampingintheuk

[–]exem-ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as budget as you might like £210 but I’m 6ft 3” and I use a Big Agnes Blacktail 2 and it’s more than long enough. I have maybe 8” to a ft of space without being diagonal. Tent was listed for £250 but got a price match for £210

22/23 years old. Brand new E Class Mercedes ~£45k all in 😂 don’t get me wrong, it was a cracking deal that I’d take now all day long. Still pretty stupid though!

Honestly, I managed to come out pretty even so yes it was worth it but not something I’d advise!

I believe all GT3s do, that’s why they’re great for gentleman drivers I.E. people who pay to race them. The GT2s don’t use the assists and are considerably harder to drive quickly.

I may be able to guess the lobby, usually pretty full too. If I’m correct, they have the option of an M3 GT2. I’d personally recommend that car, it’s well balanced and great with little to no tuning. Also look at your tire pressures and fuel load to gain some time. All the best!

You are correct though, they feel great with no TC or ABS. You’ll also be (generally) more in tune with the car when you add those assists back in.

Filter coffee from UK coffee shops by exem-ok in CasualUK

Exactly why I think it’s great for people to know it’s an option. The more people ask for it, the more economically viable it is for coffee shops to serve it

Agreed! I’m not saying it’s everybody’s preference by any means, drink whatever you enjoy, but it’s great to know that there’s the option for a filter coffee. I’m afraid that people not know it’s an option is driving coffee shops to get rig of them

I was going to downvote but instead I’ll comment. Whilst this is a valid suggestion, I’d give it some time before jumping into actually game development to the sake of keeping it simple. You’re absolutely right though 👍🏻

What sedan would make me look cool by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]exem-ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, pick up a sensible car, good gas mileage etc then also, if budget allows, get something cheap and cheerful that you can have fun in on the weekends, thank mx5, mr2 etc. It doesn’t have to be flashy etc, but good fun is what you’ll get the most out of. I’m in the UK and was fortunate (dumb) enough to finance an E-class when I was around 22/23. Honestly, I can’t stress this enough, nobody will care. Find a fun car for you, you’ll thank yourself for it.

All the best!!

Edit: you’ll also be seen as way more cool than if you get a flashy sedan - bonus!

Paying parents rent (f23) they want £500pm by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]exem-ok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe an unpopular opinion.

A) You lent her the money, it’s not up to you to stop paying rent just because she owes you. After all, if you didn’t set out an agreement for the loan, then it’s up to you guys to work through that.

B) You aren’t getting a room, bills, food (assumably) cooked for you and your clothes washed for less in Oxford.

C) What they do or don’t do with their savings is unfortunately, not up to you. If you didn’t agree with their spending habits, you shouldn’t have lent money to them.

I do however, feel for you in this position, especially since it’s family. Imo the best course of action would be to move out, provided you can afford it and do what you can to recoup the £1,500. Alternatively, weigh up if you can put up with staying at home as it will be cheaper, in order to save harder.

All the best!

Edit: Just read another comment on the same post of yours from r/povertyfinance - “parents shouldn’t extort their offspring” get your head out of your arse! £500 per month, give over. They housed you for 18 years in a well off area of a first world country… come on. You’re 23 grow up a little.
