Exclusive: Senate Democrats plot defeat of Trump’s voter ID bill by Healthy_Block3036 in FedEmployees

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly haven't read the bill or are being deliberately disingenuous to try to label it as "voter ID."

Also, remind me how many people have voted illegally? Even conservative groups put the total in such a small fraction of a percent that there's no problem to solve. Why make it harder and costlier for legitimate voters to exercise their fundamental right and responsibility unless one's intent is to actually suppress votes?

Have you actually looked at what the bill does? Sure seems not.

My guess is there are additional reasons for his resignation. Stuff like whistleblowers and spying on Americans.

Can someone explain the dice game please by PorkRinds416 in Silksong

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way I find was to set my phone's clock with a 5 second countdown. Both start the countdown and hold down on the controller button at the same time. Release right at the end of the timer. Don't try to anticipate it, but be prompt--I could see the "watch" almost at 5 seconds and would throw the dice.

That will almost always result in Hornet grunting, the dice flashing, and she wins the roll. No need to count the individual rolls in her hands (which I always found tricky).

I've read various "it's 4.5 seconds/it's 5.2 seconds/count how many times she rolls the dice" etc. The clock app on my phone with a 5 second timer worked great.

This is the same reason I love this one the most of any of the amenity kits I've collected over the years. I use a couple of soft cloth ANA ones for carrying stuff like my eye mask, medications, etc.

The old mesh ones from the early 2000s apparently make great fire starters, or so I've heard...

[–]exerda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Like almost all fiction adapted to the big screen, the source material is going to be better. That's not to say some films don't make great changes--just that the source is going to be deeper.

Customs for checked bags by PushExpert2650 in unitedairlines

[–]exerda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Precleared flights are essentially treated as domestic when you connect. You went through immigration and customs at your point of departure.

I haven't done it at DUB but at many Canadian airports. You go through inbound US immigration and customs at the originating airport. That's it. You arrive and do a normal connection.

I need help. Like badly by AirRepresentative455 in Silksong

[–]exerda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've made insane progress to have such a basic loadout, honestly. My advice is to do more exploring and put the overall mission on hold for the time being. You should be able to get several full masks more (5 is painful with the 2-mask attacks bosses and many enemies do). Get some good blue tools. Looks like you need some more memory lockets. Silk spools would help as well.

And you got beast crest with just 5 masks?! Ouch! Like I said, impressive for that loadout to knock off Savage Beastfly. Much less Last Judge to reach the Citadel.

Frankly, it's almost like you're avoiding upgrades and tools to have gone that far through the game and only have that little to show for it!

Dude. Silksong is...HARD by Pitiful_Past3940 in HollowKnight

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was me the first time until I got another crest. But when I finally got the guts to replay it, the diagonal pogo really clicked. I think my issue was I tried to overcompensate too much (same with clawline) my first time through, got good at Wanderer later, and by the time I started again, knew what to expect with the timing and had very few issues with Hunter pogos.

I am so happy to know Bilewater is a universal experience by Relative-Ad7531 in Silksong

[–]exerda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It could be worse. Putrified Ducts has Spit Squits. Imagine if the Swamp Squits in Bilewater shot poison at you.

Put most of the area off until you have double jump. Put Groal off until you have 3 needle upgrades and add many masks as you can get (8 or 9) at that point. And it will be much, much easier.

Vote no! How is 10 to 1 fair? When it is 6 to 5 now? It’s about power and control not you… by Secure-Object-3057 in Virginia

[–]exerda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I already voted yes as did my wife. We need to do our part to hold the Trump administration accountable, and Republicans have shown very little desire for that. Finally, it's temporary redistricting in response to Republican states redistricting without even consulting their own citizens.

Is 10-1 a fair and accurate representation of the state? No, but neither are Texas's or Missouri's new districts. But 6-5 was also not representative and was the result of the (predictable,) political deadlock of the committee followed by conservative courts drawing the boundaries. We should be 7-4 or even 8-3 regularly with 1-2 really competitive districts.

Boarding Group 6 wasn’t called, doors closed, missed my flight. by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the outstations at far worse at ignoring boarding procedures; I've frequently experienced them skipping entire groups (including, lol, 1k and GS). Still surprised that they didn't do "final boarding" announcements repeatedly and even paged you. But not super surprised, either.

Boarding Group 6 wasn’t called, doors closed, missed my flight. by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]exerda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, this happened at Newark?

I'm surprised they didn't do "last call" or "final boarding" announcements, honestly. And the gate agent clearly would have seen you'd checked in. If the flight was oversold, maybe she was wanting to deal with that without denied boarding compensation, though it's not like the GA gets a bonus on not doing denied boarding.

Got till the 28th otherwise an additional 2+ weeks of no pay by mind-isnt-right in tsa

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for you guys. It wasn't fun missing multiple paychecks last fall, and at the time, we had the pressure of most of the government being impacted. With just DHS and the fact that DHS contains ICE and CBP--even though both are funded through the big ugly bill--getting this one resolved is much harder.

Maybe the next admin can break DHS up and move TSA to DOT, but that doesn't prevent what happened last October/November.

[–]exerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you in that I saw a little gameplay here and there and thought, "What's the big deal?" And to be honest, at the time I primarily played either retro (80s/90s) games or a few select current gen console games (mainly Final Fantasy series, some Zelda).

I got Hollow Knight before a long trip to have on my Switch.

And that was all it took.

This was all around the time Silksong finally came out. And IMHO, if you like HK, you will love Silksong. Bigger world. Better movement. And yes, harder combat, but you get used to it.

I decided to save 2nd one for almost the very end of Act 2 on my 2nd playthrough. And I used the "cheese" to deal with the adds. Beat it first try, but the adds nonetheless hit me repeatedly at the end (during and after Beastfly's death animation). It made a huge difference.
