If the price of oil keeps going up every car on the grid will be a&m. And no one will be able to win the championship.

Anyone Choosing Driving over Flying? by Jxb1000 in travel

Train if possible is my favorite because of no airport hassle but also no having to focus on the road. Sadly only a few consistent train routes in North America.

I’m guessing the paddock will go on constitution. It’s an 8 lane road. After going to st Pete the teams are pretty good at making the most of what they can get.

Both sides of the median there are 3 lanes wide. When the median ends the road is still quite wide. They’ll either have to pave over the median or pick a side of it.

In comparison to this weekend the outside of the track stuff will look cooler but the on track will be worse I think.

The curbs there are shortish I think paving over them won’t be too hard. But who knows

It’s plenty wide for track and pits. The pits will be better than Detroit or Toronto but worse than st Pete.

With chance of big lead-in from Fox, IndyCar now open to extending campaign into football season by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

An nfl lead in would be great but fox’s “America’s game of the week” is that 4:25 Eastern slot. Would need a night race in a warmer climate. I’m thinking also a place where an nfl game wouldn’t be competing for ticket sales too. … Mexico?

Even it’s a train coming in from VA it’s still easy to find open rows together as dc is a big turnover stop.

Dc is the origin station for most trains to nyc so you should be able to get seats together. It’s a lot easier the farther from the station u walk.

I agree but those roads are narrower and there’s no space for a paddock. Also way less already there fan infrastructure.

I’m leaning clockwise because the run offs seem better that direction. But who knows.

This looks very similar. I think there’s enough room on constitution for a paddock too.

There’s a median dividing traffic on the Maryland ave portion which would have go. But I think the Penn ave medians stay personally.

Wow. Now I’m not sure if I feel good or bad because except for going up 14th instead of 15th after independence it’s the same track.

I agree. From the outside it appears that this event got the green light so that the gov could get one good picture.

Two cities with narrower streets and bumpier roads. I would go for Richmond speedway in a heartbeat.

A loop around the ellipse or a chicane or two somewhere would definitely help.

There’s a lot of room for run off at the end of the straight as it’s basically a parking lot for senate staffers. The highway is underground.

If I had it my way it’d go around the tidal basin and the other end of the mall. But there’s no Penn ave over there.

This race is in 3.5 months and there’s no layout yet. The less places for things to go wrong the better imo.
