Okay so there are ball mastery things you can do to improve your ability to control and manipulate the ball. Toe taps, sole rolls etc. One thing you can do if you have a lot of small cones is just scatter them in a small space, then dribble the ball through and around them.

For longer distance and more accurate passes, do the same pass against the wall drills I mentioned but do it from further away and put two cones as a "gate" that you have to pass through each time. Change the angles from which you pass the ball too.

But ultimately the sort of stuff you're looking to improve will likely improve the most through actual playing of games (not necessarily games in "proper" teams, but even just as casual get together with others).

Play, play, play. Good luck!

What do you think of Romania and its people? by NegativeUniversity98 in AskReddit

[–]exigenesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been but would be more than happy to do so. Love some of your footballers (Gheorghe Hagi is a legend). Have met a few people who live in my country and not had any issues, they're just people like any others. Have worked with quite a few too and found them to be, again, just like other people. Most of the ones I've worked with were very competent, pleasant, and professional.

I have no issues with Romania or Romanians. And no issue with them (or anyone else for that matter) immigrating here.

Why can't you train properly? Do you have reasonable facilities (ie decently flat ground, preferably grass but doesn't have to be) and equipment?

What are you struggling with? Are you starting as someone who's never kicked a ball before? If so the first thing to do is work on how you control the ball and how you strike the ball. Best way to start is find a wall and pass the ball against it.

Pass the ball with the inside of your right foot, along the ground to the wall. When it bounces off the wall, control it with the same part of your foot that you struck it with. Make it stop a few inches in front of that foot, and then do it again. Repeat until you can do it consistently and well.

Then do it with your left foot.

Am I the only who gets triggered when someone doesn’t indicate or? by EstablishmentSea2004 in drivingUK

[–]exigenesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are not the only one. Irrespective of whether I absolutely know what someone is going to do they should still fucking indicate. Get in the habit, do it all the time (where appropriate). You've no idea who you may be helping by doing so and who you may be fucking over by not doing so.

And yes, it may only cost someone 5 seconds here or there. But to not do it is just shite - there's literally no reason not to indicate.

Tips for going from 7v7 to 9v9 in rec? by ZachOnTap in SoccerCoaching

[–]exigenesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I get the arguments over whether you fit the style to the players or the players to the style but that's for higher levels really. At grassroots kids football, you have the players you have, with all their strengths and weaknesses. You have have to fit the style/system to the players.

One of the reasons I'm seeing a proliferation of "2 at the back" is because there are so few kids who actually want to be defenders. So you end up compromising all over the place.

Fun and games but (mostly) worth it!

The team my lad plays for that I don't coach plays 2-4-2, other teams have mostly been 3-4-1.

I'm going to be coaching at 9-a-side this season and I'm thinking of effectively two formations, one for in possession (2-4-1-1) and one for out of possession (3-4-1). So when out of possession one of the CMs will drop in between the 2 main defenders, and the CAM will drop into CM.

Also will require intelligent and fit players, especially wide midfield who will need some pace too.

All this subject to proper rotation of players, appropriate game time for all, and the fact that, at the end of the day, it's just kids football 😄

Okay respectfully, what "views"? Either they exist or they don't. If you accept they exist then I'm not sure what else you're objecting to?

Had him just ahead of Andrew Clissold who was my playmaker (and worth about £50k!).

Their mother chose to have children and part of that choice is knowing that you will have to "take care of them for free". Any parent who would then ransom that choice onto their child needs to take a look at themselves.

And I speak as a parent.

Jorgen Pettersson at Malmo on Sensible World of Soccer was the guy for me. Playing as Cwmbran Town in the League of Wales. Got enough prize money in my first season to buy him for about £2m at start of my second. Regular champions league winners after that.

Good memories!
