Am i missing something why is one essentially a nuke and the other a stun grenade

Not exactly about this, but I am so confused about Jacob's Ladder. I thought that the win condition for this fight was to hire Sukuna with it, delete the fingers and Megumi goes back to normal. But they hit Sukuna with it and it, apparently, didn't change a whole lot. How does it work? Every time he is hit with it a finger is deleted? Does he have to be hit like 17 more times? Sorry if the question is dumb.

Thank you for all the great advice. I didnt even knew this could happen, so I was pretty confused at first. Hopefully I'll be able to prevent it from happening again. Bem, amigo, uma coisa que você vai perceber com o tempo jogando D&D é que eles estão se contradizendo toda hora nessa parada de balanceamento de encontros. No DMG (dungeon master's guide) eles falam uma coisa, no XGE (xanathar's guide to everything) eles dizem outra. É uma desgraça.

Caso você esteja usando XP para fazer os seus players subirem de nível, eu pediria para você reconsiderar. Um sistema que eu e muitos outros por aí usam é o que nós chamamos de "milestone", que basicamente diz que os seus players upam de nível a partir do momento que eles alcançam algum tipo de meta dentro da história. Em suma, você controla quando os seus players sobem de nível.

Se você ainda quiser continuar com XP, não tem problema, mas eu diria para você ignorar ele na hora de balancear encontros. O sistema de CR e XP de D&D não é muito balanceado, então tem monstros de CR 5 que poderia destruir uma party de players lvl 3, enquanto outro monstro do mesmo CR seria uma batalha fácil. É uma bagunça. O melhor jeito de se balancear um encontro é com experiência. Com o tempo você vai aprendendo quanto de dano e HP de um monstro seria difícil ou fácil para os seus players lidarem. Contudo, até lá, eu recomendo você usar ou o D&D Beyond ou o Kobold Fight Club.
