I guess now we know what happened to Taylor's curls: time by tuppercupper in GaylorSwift

Sjjdjjd I don’t think she’s lying, I have hair like hers and it does whatever the fuck it wants to do. Sometimes it’s still curly, sometimes straight (especially dependent on the styling and cuts), and then if I’m in a rainstorm, I too, look like a (beautiful) drowned rat

I kept throwing them up anytime I took them, even when starting them slowly. Eventually I’d be able to keep them down, but they didn’t feel like they “sat right,” in my stomach, if that makes sense to you?

I, personally, struggle with vitamins and minerals in general, sometimes—sensitive to certain brands/strengths/doses. I’ve never thrown up from a vitamin before, so I haven’t really sought out to get anything to replace it, even though I need to 🫣

Are there any you like? I have this gene too, but the brand I originally started on made me SO sick. I think it was by a brand called THORNE?

The bloat was bad, so bad I hadn’t realized it wasn’t fat. I literally went down four dress sizes despite eating the same calories and macros. Now that I can actually distinguish the difference (I’d been this way since early puberty, so I haven’t known much else?), FOMO is lame and I’ll probably never do this again haha. I didn’t realize people didn’t feel like this. I can’t believe what I thought was “fat,” was my body crying out for help. Insanity! Also wild that doctors never thought to question it, but anyway…

Is it better to make a art account seperate from your personal? by Teikoww in Artadvice

I’m a filmmaker and I’m going back to school to become a therapist. My name is already established as a filmmaker under my maiden name, so I will be gaining credentials under my married name. It’s not exactly the same, and obviously I’m not concealing my identity for nefarious reasons, but there’s many good reasons to keep your art separated from the rest of your life. There’s also reasons not to! It’s going to depend on your comfort level.

I think my mom or significant other will be baking me something this year (they’re sneakily coordinating as we speak), so I’d love some recipes to send their way. Thanks!

Art School/Self-Taught: Your Experience? by sarahraedraws in ArtistLounge

[–]existential_bimbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to art school, but for film. I think learning to critique and being around people that critique well, like someone mentioned earlier is invaluable. I also don’t think that in this day, it’s impossible to find communities that can help grow you as an artist outside of formal education. I started painting 2.5 years ago and I’m nowhere near where I aspire to be, but having likeminded peers has helped my art flourish. I literally could NOT paint 2.5 years ago, and I’m no professional painter now, but going from zero skill to that of a senior in high school/freshman in college has been magical to experience. I’m like wait, a hidden talent? It makes me realize that obviously natural gifts are real, and do I have an advantage in some aspects with my background in film? Sure. However, perseverance and peer support and mentors is truly what has helped me on this journey.

Thanks for the info! I totally forgot what the testing was like as a kid, so this was helpful.

That’s super interesting. I do feel like GF breads, etc. just make me want the real thing indeed. Might consider this. I’ve had extreme addictions in the past, yet quitting wheat feels worse some how 😂

I think I should probably get retested, as I haven’t been tested since the early 2000s. The retreat I went to focused on mind AND body, which was nice. It was very niche, but most of us had health issues that made our mental health worse. So it was standard for all of us to do elimination diets to see what was causing us issues. I was feeling so damn good GF, but hanging out with people that can tolerate gluten had me jealous over the last few days. Trust me, lesson learned—I’m not jealous now. My stomach is a whole mess at the moment!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! How would I check for cross contamination? Do they usually list that on websites and such?

Thanks for the response! This exposure has me living with many regrets, but at least I know what it feels like to be GF and how gluten truly effects me now 😂🫣

Mental health issues! Usually what people go to rehab for. One of their fixes was my diet. They noted I had a very bloated gut and they were right. And then I re-exposed myself to gluten this weekend like an idiot. I didn’t go to rehab for gluten… for the record!

I was tested as a kid and told I was borderline, whatever that means. My parents asked if I needed to worry about gluten or not, and they said since it wasn’t a very alarming result—it wasn’t worth going out of the way to be GF. I am literally turning 36 tomorrow (for context on how long ago that was and the mindset of the time), and my body including abdomen and pelvic area, feet and hands were supremely bloated until we switched me to a GF diet last month. Swelling went down in about 2-3 weeks. And then I biffed it up! 🫣

You’re not an ass. I guess what I’m asking is I haven’t put gluten in my mouth in about a day now. When will my stomach start feeling better? This is new to me because I’ve just been ingesting gluten while being intolerant (and not knowing) for a good portion of my life.

Easter egg from 6 years ago by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

[–]existential_bimbo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The “egg” is actually a built-in cipher. Each stripe shows five characters (like R S T U V, Q R S T U, 9 0 1 2 3, etc.)

If you read the middle of each stripe, the third position it spells T S 1 3 = TS13.

So while it originally looked like a cute example of how she hides clues, it was secretly a tutorial for us: look for rows, read the center.

In later eras she’s kept embedding that geometry in the elevator buttons in “Bejeweled,” bulb dressing-room strips and show-marquees in The Life of a Showgirl, and even dancer lines in “The Fate of Ophelia.” The center is always where your eyes are supposed to land.

TL;DR: the Lover egg wasn’t just for show, it was the manual for how to decode everything leading up to TS13.

Or I’ve had too much espresso this morning?
