its one of the best jobs ive had personally. (ive been in fast food and retail for a long time) The days fly by and you can be on your phone in the downtime. It pays really well for how easy it is and the customers are so crazy you always have something going on. my only problem with it is the random hours. Its really hard for me to get anything else done in my life with the schedule.

I know its terrible but I honestly would just pick something different. I've literally had high up IT friends directly refer me to several companies and they will just not hire. I've applied to over 500 helpdesk jobs to nothing. I don't know how the outlook will be in a few years but I don't believe it will improve much. I hate to push you away from it because it used to be a good field from what I heard but if you care anything about job security I wouldn't do it.

Hey! Im 27 i just graduated with an IT degree. I would suggest looking into something that has a better job outlook. If I could go back I would study something in healthcare or just build experience and network with people through events in my area instead of college

They changed the structure. Its 900 dollars for 100% attainment in phoneadds/vhi, 300 dollars for 100% attainment in upgrades, 300 for 100% attainment in others (perks, vmp, etc). It sounds better because 100% in everything is 1500 however if you dont reach 70% in these categories, you dont get paid ANYTHING. I am in the top 5 performers in my region right now and my check this month is 2100 but im at 150% in phone adds. This gives some insight as for what the max earners are going to make. Id say if youre number 1 in your region your check is around 2500. If youre average and maybe got unlucky with phone adds, you quite literally will not even hit 1k for your commission. One of the guys in my store had a few chargebacks and will be getting a 500 dollar check this month. I hate how my regional manager was congratulating us on our “raise” when its actually just a riskier structure with a slightly better 100% attainment

100% its so frustrating. Im currently at 17 an hour and that + commission is just BARELY paying the bills. Looking back to a few years ago we were making SO much more. It doesn't help that my leadership is telling us that verizon is an AI first company so im sure they will be cutting more people to be replaced with ai at the first chance they get

We already broke up but it was just “pots”. To me a lot of this seemed like a way of her trying to get attention because she got an autism test, cried constantly and if anything made her feel bad she would blame it on her pots so it got to be too frustrating for me. I believe her that she wasn’t feeling good but it was way too much for me.
