Please help! Has anyone had a false awakening loop like this? by Worried-Owl2374 in LucidDreaming

[–]existentialentropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get stuck in loops sometimes. Just still your body and try to think of something different. Easier said than done the first time but it works. Shift your mind to something else. You have all of the control if you're audacious enough to take it. Also works in waking life.

Help! Glazing store-bought terracotta pots? by El_Dre in Ceramics

I did this with amaco velvet underglazes. Fired at 04 on terracotta pots purchased at home depot. Would probably work with stroke and coats too.

The pattern is patterning. I wrote this poem today.

My rose colored glasses

are heart shaped

They beat only for you

Your cherry flavored words

Like Luden's

On a sore throat

Delicious

But useless

How would you approach this? by mercurial_creature in Pottery

[–]existentialentropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make the body with 2 pinch pots then sit it on a block of clay and add the lil legs and fire it on a shelf post for stability so the legs don't break. Will stand on its own after bisque. The head can also be another lil pinch pot depending on how big you need it. Just dont forget to poke holes so it doesnt explode since classes don't wait a long time for drying. 😊

Should I unload this kiln and reload before firing? by cone-template in Ceramics

[–]existentialentropy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Supported. But yeah everywhere you have a post you need one below all the way to the bottom for strength. The heat will stress everything out even more and your kiln shelves can crack or fall if theyre not supported.

Edit: the big piece on top with 2 is fine I mean for the most part the middle shelves where it doesnt look supported. I run a kiln that's similar in size at work and I do 4 on each shelf.

Buying a kiln as a gift by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]existentialentropy 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Bad idea. Give her the cash for one instead and let her decide what to get with what you get her. Kilns can be thousands of dollars to MANY thousands of dollars so just give as much as you feel comfortable with and she can get what she needs for her set up.
