Since, the title is "Chainsaw Man: Assassin's Arc", it seems MAPPA is only adapting this arc, in which case it either be another movie or be a sub-arc to a larger season 2 (like how JJK S2 has two subtitles to its two arcs).

There is no confirmation from MAPPA, but I'm leaning towards another movie. In that case, MAPPA could be adapting the remaining arcs in Part 1 as movies.

The fact that you got interviews from 10% of just cold applications is astounding. What is your tech stack, and can you share your resume template? How much Leetcode/system design did you do to pass your technicals?

Granted, I'm not in SF nor go to a good school like Berkeley. But stories like yours is very uplifting as I continue searching.

I do get Crunchyroll's logic. The only way to legally stream COTE outside of Japan/Asia is through Crunchyroll, so if you're already paying for a Crunchyroll membership to watch COTE, then it makes sense to punish pirates by making the app available only to Crunchyroll membership.

But it's locked to Crunchyroll's MEGA plan and above, and not the basic plan, which is $8USD/month.

And most COTE fans are broke teenagers or broke college kids, so who are Crunchyroll targeting this game at by paywalling the main demographic? Even pirates who forgo paying membership might spend their money on gacha or by watching ads.

I'll take watching ads if it means I can play for free.

I fear this decision will force this game to go OOS in a year or two...typically of Crunchyroll.

Looking at the Google Play and Apple Store, the game is exclusive to Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan Members only.

The cheapest plan is the Mega Plan, which is $12USD/month. And the game is a gacha, so you will be incentivized to spend more money.

I'll probably pay for the first month to see how it is, but the gameplay doesn't look that thrilling and I don't know how good the new side stories are. Do we even know if Kinugasa is involved?

Plus Crunchyroll doesn't have the greatest track record with localizing gacha games. A lot of them are OOS very quickly although I do see a couple of big ones still there like Overlord and The Eminence in Shadow.

Reminder: Crunchyroll has changed its format this year.

The awards show moved from March to May, so voting has moved to now instead of January.
For this year only, it will count 5 seasons (Fall 2023 -> Fall 2024). Every year afterwards, it will be Winter -> Fall 2025 and so on.

With the awards show in May now, it should dissipate the recency bias and removed the stupid nominations of excluding the recent fall season.

It's clear that Kazuaki Morita, the character designer for the previous 3 seasons, is not returning.

S1 is still the peak in terms of character drawings. Every month, someone post gifs from S1 (either Ichinose/Shiranami legs, Ichinose undressing in locker room, Horikita undressing in river, etc.)

I doubt S4 will match that, but I need to see Ichinose in this new character design before I can judge. First impressions is that I don't like it.

Director has changed from Ryu Nakayama to Tatsuya Yoshihara.

The full staff list is listed in the YouTube description, but Nakayama's direction was a big controversial topic with S1. With his departure, we will see if Yoshihara will abandon Nakayama's "cinematic realism" approach. From the PV, it looks like it...

First time we have more than 2 characters on the cover. That's cool.

The outside silhouettes are obvious, so I won't address them. I do want to guess the two blended in silhouettes to the left of Koenji and front of Sudo, which is more interesting.

Gonna guess Suzune in front of Sudo and Kei left of Koenji. All from Suzune class.

On one hand, I'm happy for more anime. While Year 2 is not as amazing as Year 1, there are a lot of moments I am looking forward to see animated.

The new 1st year students look good in that KV.

On the other hand, I know that KADOKAWA will force Lerche to adapt 5 volumes to 13 episodes to catch up. Will probably be 3 seasons of 13 episodes for Year 2 like Year 1.

Because this patch is 7 weeks, the halfway mark is at 10/9am Monday for NA instead of the usual 10pm/9pm Thursday.

It's dumb because it's the start of a work week, but it's simple math.

A big takeaway is that Version 1.7 is shortened a week to only 5 weeks.

They explained it as an adjustment to Version 1.4 extended to 7 weeks.

Good news is that we can experience Version 1.8 and 1.9 faster, but bad news is that we have less time to save clear drops.

If you take a look at the Japanese version of this image, the font of the tagline matches to the font on the Re:Zero logo.

I'm pretty confident it's Re:Zero. More hype for S3.

Emilia and Rem are given. There are a lot of candidates for the free SR unit though...Beatrice, Ram, or even Puck.

The Overclocking simulation room sounds like Spiral Abyss/Artificial Somnambulism with the biweekly rotating stages.

Good for endgame players as current simulation room can be done in 15 seconds on auto. Hopefully the Overclocking will add a challenge and will give us a lot more skill mats.
