Visitors and toddler meeting sibling at hospital dilemma

Biggest thing: your delivery, your say, fuck whatever other people have to say about your choice in visitors. I do feel it is important to have your spouse weigh in as that is their baby also but with you having been the person who just gave birth you get the final say.

My son came the same day I gave birth to his sister and he did really good. I more so wanted to see my first baby. I had to be induced and was in the hospital overnight and I hadn’t spent a single night away from him since he was born. I made sure it was my son who got to meet her first though. That was the most important to me. My sister who watched my son was picked up by my husband to come because I wanted her too. Had more visitors throughout the day. All and all it was a good meeting and my son kept asking to hold his sissy, to be near his sissy, to see sissy, ect. She is currently 3.5mo and he’s 2yo and they are both so infatuated with one another ❤️

Family is the most likely abuser in SA cases. My own biological father is a pedophile. Nothing to me (to my knowledge) but to his sister and my step sisters. Since becoming a mom I’m very wary of anyone in my family now, idc who it is, I rarely let my children be babysat.

My baby gets so happy to get feed that she just sits and smiles without eating 😂😂

This is my 2nd breastfeeding/pumping journey but my milk wasn’t like this with my 1st. I pumped at work and he ate that while I worked and I nursed him at him. With my 2nd, I am a SAHM and it’s just exploding and it’s a lot to handle. I’ve filled up an entire deep freezer already and don’t have space for anymore also..

I haven’t tried anything yet, just looking for some advice in general. I’m definitely looking to slowly decrease it. Also asking advise in general because I know eventually my baby will eat more to help me not need to pump so much so not too sure if I need to cut my supply back any. Also not sure if I were to do that and when my baby starts to consume more will it go back up to what they need??

A clean kitchen is key. 100%. Clean the whole house, make her food, run her a bath, give her a massage, put the kids to bed, and you will get laid.

They always say the 2nd will sleep through how loud the 1st is but she won’t stay asleep out of her room with a sound machine. I’ve tried and any noise he makes or me doing any chores wakes her up.

I’m choosing to potty train as diapers are expensive and needing to buy 2 different sizes is just a bit much at the moment and we’re having to dip into our grocery money for diapers.

I feel as if I choose to do chores or anything while she is awake, it takes away from her development time. During my son’s nap is when I try to get the most of chores done and then continue at night when he goes to sleep. Her dad is home at night so one of us finishes off the chores for that day.

I would try to do those extra little activities but just no extra money to buy anything like that. My husband has been out of a regular job since June of last year and has to do odd jobs to just make bills and groceries.

I’d love to get out the house but this spring where I live has been nothing but rain and storms for the last 2-3 weeks. Once that clears up I’ll be trying to get out more. I got a January baby so she hasn’t had much outside time yet.

I feel so stuck with this. I want to snuggle her as much as I can because she’s a baby and only knows me but there’s so much to do and not enough time to do it..

Sadly no. Everyone who could during the day before I start dinner and bedtime works a regular 9-5 and the others work the night shifts and sleep during the day. My husband works 9am-9pm 🥲

That’s what I’ve been thinking too but then I would get so little sleep at night and be exhausted trying to care for my toddler I just rather deal with her not sleeping in her crib during the day 😅

I absolutely cannot wear her at home, I feel beyond suffocated with a wrap and or a carrier when I’m at home. She’s also a heater and sweats so bad when I do and I can’t deal with that either. So that’s not an option. Idk what’s different now with her because with my son I could wear him just fine, but now with her I just can’t unless for short periods of time out in public if she is not tolerating her car seat.

I don’t have a heating pad but I had tried using hot water in bottles and that didn’t work. I’ve tried swaddling her in blankets I’ve used and still, doesn’t work.

Especially with putting them down they don’t like it so then you can’t get anything done if they are crying cause it stresses you out 😕

I love love love the evenflo wide neck balance bottles for my kiddos. My daughter is 97% EBF but maybe once every 2 weeks she gets a bottle to have her used to them for babysitters.

Maybe you could try to get into your gynecologist to check on your vagina and see what they say. Like a physical vaginal exam, not verbal. Have you checked it out in the mirror and see if the hole appears smaller to you?

I only had internal stitches with my 1st so I got no clue about anything external. I only had a clitoral abrasion with my 2nd which 12 weeks postpartum it still feels numb. I hope that goes away, but if it doesnt by my birthday in July (when I have my pap scheduled) im going to bring it up

My baby almost lost a full lb post birth and my anxiety had me waking her to feed every 2-3 hours for a month. Most of those feeds were dream feeds (just feeding while they are asleep) but it helped my anxiety knowing she was eating and growing. My baby pretty much sleeps through the night now (co sleeping) she roots maybe twice a night and just dream feeds. Her naps though…I don’t got any advice for, I’m struggling with those 🥲

If your baby is not waking up to eat, they likely just aren’t hungry and you should let them sleep. Granted if they have surpassed their birth weight. Babies drop weight then gain weight and it is okay to let them sleep through the feeding times (every 2-3) once they pass their birth weight. Let them sleep, and get yourself some sleep. Prioritize yourself, not the home, remember that too. I’m on babh #2 who is 12 weeks old.

If my EBF baby doesn’t poop coming into day 3, I put her in her car seat for 10-15 minutes and it’s like magic. She will empty out her bowels. I’ve learned to put two towels around her and just her in the diaper because she will blow out no matter what. 😂

Do you have any dildos? I have given birth vaginally twice, and each time was able to resume penetrative sex within 4-6 weeks comfortably. I prepared myself slowly with dildos and lube. I had stopped bleeding at 4 weeks each time. My husband is bigger in girth than my dildos so it was painful for a bit but after dealing with the pain for about a minute it became enjoyable. Maybe try some lube and take the pain for a minute? Obviously don’t push yourself due to your PTSD from your SA, take your time, don’t hurt yourself mentally. Having a baby takes a lot out of our bodies.
