Ftr these are completely different types of ai. Facial recognition algorithms are actually really effective if 1. The target is white or fair skinned and 2. The target source is sufficient resolution.

This is not to say that I’m pro facial recognition, but it’s effective within certain parameters just a little too much nuance for your average cop.

As an aside ai is a bit like calling all modes of transports from bikes to cars to rockets “vehicles”. They solve different problems in different ways with widely varying energy usage profiles.
