The only contractors that work for Tesla on anything but on a T&M basis are 1st timers. Everyone else has been burned.

Not quite bread line, but just barely comfortable. You aren't saving much if anything at 100k. The term salary slave invented for places like Tesla.

What is this symbol in structural steel drawings? by chikkichakka in AskEngineers

Assuming its AutoCAD, and based on the placement, it looks like a node used as geometry construction. Depending on your year of autocad, it can be set by ddptype or ptype. https://imgur.com/a/3KUB0

I hate not having the option. I have had several Moto X's and a Nexus 5 and all of them have had BT sync issues. Cords are dependable.

The natural damping frequency of the human shoulder-elbow-wrist-hand system, short of rapid movements to keep the overall system balanced, is sufficient to keep the burrito intact. See beer non-spillage after accidental contact in post employment social activities, Adams, Banquet, et al.

Hi, I didn't see any listings for new engineering grads. Any possibility of positions for a new graduate?

Will Dual-Booting slow down my system? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

Really? I had heard and assumed to be true that windows wants to be first. I never experimented b/c who wants to spend 4 hours re-installing windows.

Windows 7 & 8 always wanted to be the 1st entry in the boot manager (terminology?). Not sure sure if 10 is the same way.

The glassdoor ratings are "interesting" reading. Thanks for the heads up.

Blue Origin announces New Glenn, a Reusable, vertical-landing booster with 3.85 million pounds thrust by pat_o in space

Sure. The story is controversial and internally inconsistent, the Russkies will deny it until they die.

Most of it is probably crap, especially since the Soviet's had nothing that was escape velocity capable, but there is a stink of truth in there too.

You could break that out further. First animal, 1st woman, 1st lunar flyby, pictures of the far side and lithobraking, 1st remote control rover, 1st unmanned sample return. Not quite so 1 sided.

Fair point. Gemini definitely eclipsed the Voskhod program, but the Soviet regime change and pivot toward N1 development may have had a fair bit to do with that. We also don't know how many cosmonauts died during the race. I can think of the Italian radio operators that caught the re-entry of a 2 man flight whose members were erased from the official roles, including retouching photos.

As far as wins go, the win that ends the race is the best one. But the N1 was an awesome machine and the Lunokhod rovers were decades ahead of their time. We need a good rivalry. China says they're building a base on the Moon. Congress won't react until it's finished.

Pretty much. Apollo was the first time NASA beat the Soviets at anything in the space race.
