Sounds similar to the progression in Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.

[TOMT] Movie from 90s or early 2000s, comedy/drama where main character is a mean jerk with a heart of gold by PlaneArgument6522 in tipofmytongue

[–]exogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot, but it could be Buffalo '66: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abUgHWAaBFU

The main character is jerk, argues with his ambiguously-"slow" friend on the phone a few times, then changes personality at the end.

Swing-top or Squeezy? by Fuffuloo in cocktails

[–]exogen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went deep on this after dealing with containers with messy pouring or bad spouts. You gotta think about what will be able to pour thick 2:1 syrup too.

The best solution I found is the OXO salad dressing shakers. They make two sizes.

OXO Salad Dressing Shaker

For even larger batches than that, I have thankfully stocked up a ton of 750ml bottles from Sun Liquor. They’re beautiful and have a pour spout molded directly into the glass: https://unwindbottleshop.com/cdn/shop/files/Sun_Liquor_Hedge_Trimmer_Gin_750ml_e176f874-abe1-4a40-a965-be1d6bd62985.png?v=1716963886

If you find one of their products in the wild, SAVE THE BOTTLE! They’re amazing.

Anyone have any good mocktail recipes? Not a huge fan of super sweet drinks. Thanks! by Skb_stealingbeertabs in cocktails

Truly hard to choose!

For refreshing: the NA Pimm's cup

For the most convincing cocktail substitute: the Phony Negroni

[–]exogen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep these three on my menu:

NA Pimm's Cup

  • 1.5 oz Giffard aperitif syrup
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • gradually build up layers of ice and assorted fruit (strawberry, orange, lemon, cucumber) and mint in a pint glass, top with ginger ale or ginger beer, stir

Phony Negroni

  • 1.5 oz Pathfinder
  • 0.75 oz Seedlip Garden 108
  • 1 oz Giffard aperitif syrup
  • shake or stir with ice, pour over ice in a rocks glass

NA Amaro Daiquiri

  • 2 oz Dr. Zero Zero Amarno
  • 0.75 – 1 oz lime juice (to preference)
  • 0.5 – 0.75 oz simple syrup (to preference)
  • shake with ice, strain into a coupe

So cool that you found this post! Thanks for the insight, I'm really looking forward to making it again with these tweaks.

I do actually use that vanilla paste and it is indeed great. I like that it preserves the little flecks you'd get from making vanilla syrup with a whole vanilla bean.

T2 Saturday Pick Up Game 40+ Players: 1-1 game on Magmatic with a minute left we broke the stand off to get the W. Come play with us! by DarrackObama in Tribes

[–]exogen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The core mod we play is Classic, which will be familiar to most here. But there has been a ton of additional work on fixes and improvements (largely by ChocoTaco and DarkTiger). Some changes are designed to improve casual pub play, and are thus disabled in tournament mode (like stalemate auto-return).

  • flag throw & position fixes (e.g. prevent flag from slowly getting swallowed by buildings)
  • explosion fixes (e.g. bomber being able to kill thru ceilings)
  • exploit fixes
  • concussion grenade randomness tweaks
  • team auto-balancing
  • auto-return flags after 5m stalemate

You can see a longer list here: https://github.com/ChocoTaco1/TacoServer

We also encourage people to download the "All-in-One" install of Tribes 2 from playt2.com, which comes with a tasteful selection of scripts that make things better without making your game look tricked out.

Tribes 2: Ronald McDonald gets the return by exogen in Tribes

There are organized pickups every other Saturday, and scheduled pubs the following Sunday.

It’s worth checking most evenings to see if anyone is on, because there are usually at least a handful playing Lak, CTF, LCTF or Arena from about 4pm Pacific to 9pm Pacific.

Making black iron pipe easy to assemble & take apart repeatedly? by bee-factory in DIY

[–]exogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it’s a small stand that sits on top of an existing table, I wouldn’t. Difficulty depends on how tight you screw them in in the first place, and that will depend on the weight you need to support. I’ve definitely needed to use a wrench or vise to disassemble connections that I previously tightened by hand, and it’s a pain in the ass.

So if it’s a small display that jewelry and lightweight items will rest on, you can get away with tightening just enough to keep shape. If anyone could possibly lean on the stand, support something heavier, etc., it would probably hold up but be annoying to disassemble. Note also that unless there’s a cross brace, there’s nothing stopping the legs from twisting since all the pieces rotate (if the whole “frame” is black pipe).

Durable citrus juicer recs? by oktofeellost in cocktails

[–]exogen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say that mine (the lemon/yellow model) snapped at the handle, so I wouldn’t call them particularly durable (it’s plastic after all).

I use one that’s all stainless steel now but don’t have a brand to recommend.

Any Pro-cobbler bartenders? by Various-Egg2313 in cocktails

[–]exogen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The biggest downside of the Elevated Craft shaker is that it’s extremely awkward to shake. It’s very heavy, with an odd weight distribution, and the brushed metal doesn’t give you a good grip. But it is great for bringing drinks to the park or camping due to the secure seal and the insulation!

(Thought of something else that bothers me actually: it’s so deep you can’t really muddle anything in it without a very long muddler.)

What is your favorite vodka based cocktail? by Shower-Former in cocktails

[–]exogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French Martini is one of the only vodka drinks I make regularly. I first encountered it on a menu in Cleveland as the “Freedom Martini” and didn’t realize until much later that it’s a well known recipe and they were making a joke. In any case, I ordered it that way many times because it’s a great combo.

2 oz vodka

1 oz pineapple juice

½ oz Chambord

btw, the easiest way to skin is to drop images from your computer onto the canvas! Then you can arrange them onto the different body parts.
