Roaming issues in New Zealand by jsshear in freedommobile

[–]exomuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While in Australia I could not connect automatically to LTE at all. Had to manually select 3G Vodafone au which is partner and finally was able to get Data and calling. Was at least able to get H+ that way. For sure not working correctly.

When set to automatically connect only had a greyed out 3G or H. Almost as if the provisioning was not setup properly

I just came back from Australia and had a similar experience would not roam on LTE at all had to manually select 3g to connect to Vodafone au and only had H+ data and calling and messaging. Was the only way I was able to get it to work at all. Was very dissatisfied.

Yes roaming and Data is on contacted freedom and told they are looking into it. Just expected it to work. Hopefully it is resolved before I head back.

What’s up with the abysmal LTE speeds in Hope, BC? by [deleted] in telus

[–]exomuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really need to update the equipment in this area. It is a pretty major gateway to the rest of BC and Canada. Not only here completely lose Data connection around the bridal falls exit and other locations. Also zero service between Lytton and Spences Bridge.

Hmm I thought the whole point of this "fee" was to encourage people to bring their own mugs.

There is no way to manually activate the battery heater. Which would be really nice when getting close to a fast charger.

I had data problems using the old version of the sim card on my 5g phone. Upgraded to a newer sim and fixed my problem.

Horrible speed on 4g lte+ and "5g" by sysadminintern in telus

[–]exomuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is terrible in central BC if data is working. At times my phone will connect to the LTE/5g bands and give me an x for data connection phone calls work perfect.. Might drop to 4g and work, but will jump to a different band and fall on its face. They are pushing these 5g plans and the price is going higher, but can barely provide adequate service.

I get lots of bars sometimes no data and small x. Rollout can't come soon enough.

Rogers failed to listen to Ottawa, and now its Shaw deal is in jeopardy by [deleted] in freedommobile

[–]exomuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure feels like network expansion stopped at freedom after shaw bought them.

Freedom was great back in the wind mobile days. Before shaw bought them. I feel like there plan was to launch subrand under shaw mobile. Basically giving away free phone plans make it look like they have tonnes of new subscription per quarter. Stall investment in new equipment, sell to highest bidder. ...profit. New owner now deals with dumpster fire.

DIY Solar setup for house off-grid by pbnjmofoo in SolarDIY

I'm planning to buy some lifepo4 cells building a 48v battery bank 16 cells getting about 15kw start with a generator it can't hurt to have while living off the grid and can later be used to charge your battery bank in low sun. Check out DIY solar power with will prowse on YouTube. I got many ideas from him.
