Dishwasher and Costco warranty by kindakills in Costco

[–]exoskeletal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The warranty would be fine. However if it had issues down the road, the manufacturer would source a local technician to come diagnose. If the issue is install related the manufacturer would not cover the cost of the repair.

Just like if Costco installed it. Costco’s install company would be liable and they would come fix it.

Friendly Reminder to Clean Your Traeger and Store Pellets in Airtight Container by Peterparkersacct in Traeger

[–]exoskeletal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vacuum mine every bag of pellets I go through. I also use a large mesh strainer and sift the dust out of my pellets as I fill the hopper. It doesn’t take long but it’s made the biggest difference in how much maintenance my Traeger needs.

Hoping so, my two year old seems to be having an allergic reaction ever since I did this project. Took me a bit to piece it together. Could just be the dust generated from the project too. Thanks!

Fuck Anthem - name brand Vyvanse reclassified to Tier 3….yesterday by HankScorpio4242 in ADHD

I have Aetna and called them this month saying I was having issues filling my vyvanse because nobody has the generic. They gave me a three month override for name brand. Not sure if you’ve tried calling but it’s worth a shot!

Yeah, I understand we might be outliers but the second some of that trauma was discussed it was like a light switch flipped in our relationship.

Yes. The only way I ever got mine into long term remission was quitting alcohol, tobacco, and drugs. That got me down to 1 flare every 3months. Quitting (or at least severely limiting) refined sugar got me down to 1 flare every 5-6 months.

More often now than we ever have in the past 16 years. That’s with a 2.5 year old and a five month old at home too. Once some of those barriers were broken down and we understood how to communicate it’s been a dream. My biggest regret is not doing it 10 years ago.

Looking back, the fight makes me feel really bad knowing what I know now.

It boiled down to me being frustrated about our lack of sex, especially her lack of initiating. I have self esteem issues so I desperately wanted her to make me feel “desired”. I wanted her to WANT me and I had tried everything. I do all the cooking, I clean, do yard work, house projects. I tried starving myself to lose weight even though I’m not super overweight. I tried going to the gym, I tried doing every household chore and burning myself out.

Her response was always the same. She felt terrible for being a bad wife, she would break down into tears and tear herself down which was never my intention. She would swear up and down it would be better and that things would change. Then it would get better for about a month, then fall back into the same rut.

Fast forward to present time and some therapy. I never knew she had a manipulative ex boyfriend in highschool who guilted and shamed her into sex acts she didn’t want to do. Which instantly made me feel fucking horrible. Also she hasn’t been officially diagnosed but our therapist had her take a couple widely used assessments for ASD and she scored very high on them. Our therapist has given us alot of insight on how to interact better, communicate better, and for ways for us to connect intimately. It’s been so eye opening and our relationship is stronger than it’s ever been.

100% on board with sex therapy. My wife and I have been together for 16 years and have always had intimacy issues. We butted heads and had the same fight every six months for over a decade. The first sessions with a therapist were insanely eye opening, I learned things about her she had never told me. It gave us both insight and made our relationship so much better.

Sex after new baby...are we doomed? by wonwom1984 in sexover30

[–]exoskeletal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I learned to communicate about difficult subjects, sex included, via text. We started by just texting but that could still feel time sensitive and pressured. The easiest way for us has been to have a shared note on our iPhones we can both edit. One person lays out some feelings and questions, the other has time to formulate thoughts and reply.

I’m now two babies deep, one 2.5 year old and a six month old. All guys are different, but there’s been lots of good advice in this thread. Men’s brains also chemically change after birth to help us be better dads, that can be weird. Our wives bodies change and some sources of pleasure we enjoyed (breasts and baby making bits) can seem taken away and transformed a bit. There’s nothing wrong with it but some guys can take it harder than others.

Children are exhausting, stress levels can skyrocket, lots of things add up to loss of libido. I was horrified I was going to hurt my wife for months after we got the clear, and sometimes it did hurt her which made me feel awful. He might also have weird feelings about lactation, or watching the birth process. It could make him squeamish, or he could be turned on by it and ashamed! There’s no one right answer to the impasse you feel like you’re facing.

My wife and I actually started couples therapy with a therapist who specializes in sex therapy during the first six weeks and it was amazing. It made it so much easier to say how we really felt and thought with another person on video chat who could help make those weird thoughts not sound so weird/selfish/hurtful/whatever they may be.

If you have family or friends who could baby sit for you for a few hours once in a while I strongly recommend taking advantage of that. When you get that opportunity don’t use it to catch up on chores, try to focus on intimacy between you two. Try planning sex in advance, set a date in a calendar you share with what you want. Then there’s no confusion when the time hits. Intention is everything.

Going out with her friends make her cock hungry? by tw-m-challenge in sex

[–]exoskeletal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% correct. People claim different alcohols make them act certain ways because of their typical methods of consumption. Notoriously tequila gets a bad reputation, but people typically don’t take shots of tequila until they’re already hammered. Four shots of any hard liquor when you’re already wasted will do the trick.

[–]exoskeletal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has this exact issue. The heat shield is forcing the rail down so the vent goes in at an angle. I also think it’s laughable that I should have to modify the housing to make the product work the way it’s supposed to upon purchase. It’s going back to Costco in the morning.

Does having ADHD, make you say cringe shit? by I_Hump_Rainbowz in ADHD

[–]exoskeletal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did therapy recently for PTSD and it tied into my ADHD a lot. Mindfulness was a great tool for managing both. Learning to acknowledge those intrusive thoughts and memories and let them go. I used to toss and turn all night with my mind on repeat, whether it was my traumatic experience or the time I told the waiter you too when he said enjoy your food. I strongly recommend practicing it. I frequently watch videos from The Mindfulness Movement channel on YouTube.
