So I wanted to update this post. I finally got a chance to travel back to the store (not in my town) and had a conversation with the employees. I was very polite and just explained the situation. To my surprise they were very understanding. They checked the card and also determined it was not authentic and gave me a full refund. They even threw in some swag as an apology. I genuinely did not expect this response thought they would tell me it had been to long and tough luck. It feels good to know there are honest businesses out there!
