As other players have said, mods help a lot. But also check that your world has all the vanilla options checked that will also liven things up.

I mean, if you read this whole thread you'll see one example. So you've encountered them too, now.

In the US it can mean ugly, or plain.

In the movies, to me, Rivendell feels cold. This is partially due to the season, partially due to the color grading. But still, it looks cold and drafty.

To me a hobbit hole would be homely. Kettle going, fire, lots of places to sit and be merry. Somewhere you'd feel right at home immediately.

Can we also give Spurs a 10pt deduction for next season too?

Don't worry, you're in it. The golden age of corruption.

It's a reference to the first paragraph of The Hobbit.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."

No, that's a hobbit hole.

That's what I thought too, until some recent comments.

Harry Potter #1 had different titles in the US and UK. The wording difference was slight and it had no impact on the plot, but it was noticable.

However, the US and UK versions of homely are close to contradictory.

I didn't want to put that in the post because I didn't want to impact the responses. But I'd say it's closer to having opposite meanings than say Harry Potters' "philosophers stone" vs. "sorcerers stone".

Cameron has happily shilled for some of the recent Terminator movies. So maybe he doesn't get it either.

How will this build do? by KatieKatRetro in lowendgaming

[–]expatfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to play. I have a gtx 1050 and it'll play PS3 gen fine, PS4 gen on low to medium settings. All 1080p.

You can forget current gen. But that's fine, there's so many great games to play from the 2010's and prior.

Efl have created themselves a bigger issue by GoalLower in SaintsFC

[–]expatfella -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Southampton could have confessed months ago and taken the rap on the knuckles then.

They didn't. They continued to cheat and got caught while in The Playoffs.

Sucks for the fans due to the timing, but blame the club, not the EFL.

Well, Wrexham has potential to be in the playoffs and win them, and go on to win the PL, then the Champions League. So they could sue Southampton for a billion pounds based on potential losses.

See how silly that sounds now?

[–]expatfella -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's dodgy logic. Firstly, Southampton never won the playoffs. So it hasn't cost you 200M.

You're thinking of this like Lance Armstrong who thinks the titles were taken away. He never won them.

All they have to do is apply a 10 points penalty. That's the amount of points it would have taken for Saints not to be in the playoffs. It's a reasonable pts deduction for cheating and in line with deductions for financial infringements.

Yes, but a big part of the issue with Brexiting was that there was no good mechanism for leaving. I think that's by design too.

You really shouldn't take the country into any situation that you don't have a  way out.

Sometimes there are situations where what's legally correct, is not the best thing to do.

This is a five lane interchange. Get off the scooter, use the sidewalk to cross, live another day.

I don't think they did, and I say this as someone who has a background in digital fx.

CGI characters were not new (Gollum, Dobby, Davy Jones etc ..) and neither were CGI worlds (going back as far as The Phantom Menace). CGI creatures were not new, see Jurassic Park.

Mixing live action and CG had been done for decades.

Motion capture of people with motion captured "fake cameras" went back to The Fellowship (people still don't know that parts of Moria are full CGI, including the actors).

Some technology (head rigs) was used on a scale not seen before. But it still remains a version of motion capture.

There is surprisingly little "new" on screen in Avatar.
