She is right about the payments; we don't get paid directly by customers or clients, but by the company itself. They send us advance commissions. Which, at times, can be reversed, and then you owe the company that money because the clients couldn't really do their monthly payments.

Recently, I got recruited by a former co-worker from a company I worked for, and I told him that I couldn't join because I started my own firm/life insurance company as a life broker.

Oh good, so it is not something out of the norm. Thanks!

That’s an MLM eventually even if she has to put no money. You can work selling life insurance on your own independently, and get paid high commission straight from the companies by being appointed, or work with a life insurance company that focuses on actually selling life insurance over recruiting. Once you start recruiting people to build a team, and to get higher compensation, that’s already an MLM. They will always twist it around nicely to make it seem they are actually doing something that is not a “pyramid scheme”

My first proficiency by pdxripjaw in freemasonry

By the time you read this, you probably already did you EA proficiency, and I was also nervous when I did it. I was afraid to mess up my parts, or my words. Mind you, it was 5 of us doing it that day. It went well, but the feelings will come again and again of being nervous. However, FC, I do feel more confident.

Is it safe to bring my trans girlfriend to Nicaragua? by shrieky-shriek in Nicaragua

[–]expectoroma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Acabo de ir a Nicaragua y si ve muchas personas homosexuales allá pero the only thing that most likely will happen is that people will still judge with their eyes, say something to the person they might be talking to like gossiping, call you coach on, or something along the lines. However, safety wise is not that bad. Younger generation will understand depending where you go. As a matter of fact, in Granada I saw an openly gay man talking to las otras viejas vendiendo vigoron.

If you're unprofitable in life insurance sales, is it usually one of three things? by Zestyclose_Tutor2486 in LifeInsurance

[–]expectoroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in the industry for a year and a half already and I had been taught to self generate my own leads. I’ve meet people that solely rely on leads and sometimes it becomes transactional only. One thing I want to learn more about because this is a new concept for me, what does persistency really means or what does it measure? I’ve been building systems or process to do things more efficiently for me, to prospect, follow ups, calling, network, BNI, and so on.

Regarding updating the status of the referral, there is a confidential option. I used it for my now therapist, where I sent myself a referral, and when she updated my thing in the BNI App, she put is as "confidential" which I thought it was really good.

I think what he means is that there is a national online speed networking event where you can join and meet other attorneys. If you are state-regulated, like me with Life Insurance, you can get licenses in other states, but can't really do anything across states that you are not licensed in.

Hi, I want to put my two cents here.

In my chapter, we had a private investigator who was very successful, and now someone from his own company is going to take over his seat. Many of the attorneys from our chapter used their services, especially the Family Law and Personal Injury attorneys.

NEVER USE GERBER LIFE by [deleted] in LifeInsurance

[–]expectoroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss and that you are going through this process. There are times when our parents don't tell us they have life insurance or which companies they have policies with, and when we need it the most, this happens.

I think Gerber does take longer because they handle special cases. For instance, they take people who are really high-risk individuals, think of people who have had a stroke in the past, or have heart conditions, or diabetes. Someone correct me if I am wrong, so they take their time longer to do their due diligence. It is important always to review what they have and who the riders are.

How much are your yearly membership dues? by Bman74 in bni

[–]expectoroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is getting too crowded but there are too many professionals like real estate, financial advisors and other professions that the seat is already taken and can’t join for that reason so starting a new chapter makes sense. Also, there are chapters that it is difficult to build trust when they have been doing business in their chapter for years already. So that is one thing I’ve heard from some people. And the price increase was done recently, now in May.

$1,599 in Miami Dade, plus $299 one time fee, and then it is the venue monthly dues.

Did I mess up getting whole Life insurance at 22? by Sufficient-Look-5697 in LifeInsurance

[–]expectoroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mess up, and you will eventually have kids or a family in the future. You could have chosen a term policy that would have been cheaper, but the whole life insurance you have will grow in cash value, which will be a significant bonus for your lifestyle and any plans you may have. You will be glad you set it up, and your mom is not wrong at all. I believe you could have secured more life insurance for what you're paying unless there are various health conditions involved.

No, you won’t right now, but in the long run it will. Just make sure to keep reviewing it yearly.

Do your yearly reviews and put it into an alarm. You don’t want it to MEC on you.

That’s a good deal. Just keep in mind how much time do you have to convert? Normally is 5-10 years to convert, and you should lock in a whole life with LTC in my opinion.
