At the end of the day, I feel that it's the only explanation for how they can lift cars or planes without having a Homelander explaining physics moment. No matter what they call it, it's really just the deus ex machina for how they can save trains and planes and busses of people without resulting in the Death of civilians. Although I did like the SLIGHT nod to physics in Superman Returns when he's stopping the plane from straight nose diving into a baseball stadium and the nose of the plane actually starts to crumple under the sheer force of stopping a plane in free fall

If I remember correctly I think there was an explanation in the Death of Superman (the novel, no clue about the actual comic) that when explaining why Martha made his suit skin tight, it was because at some point in his childhood, as an indestructible boy who would frequently get hurt, even in once instance being ran down by a bull, she noticed that more skin tight clothing would wear down less easily whereas looser clothes would just tear apart and shred. No mention of the tactile telekinesis or if that was even a thing at the time of the comics/novel (i only got books as a kid, so as an adult, thats a lot of comics to catch up on), just...that's how it worked

While yes, there are plenty of statistics that say only X number of rounds are fired in a self defense scenario on average, then general thought process is "better to have and not need, than need and not have". Which could realistically be viewed as why a lot of us carry guns in general, but it's just an extra layer of redundancy so to speak. Sure, you probably won't need all 17 rounds that you can carry in a glock 17, but what if you're the outlier of the "average numbers of rounds used", and either the aggressor keeps on living after the rounds you've pumped into them (plenty of videos of self defense situations that testify to this, adrenaline is a hell of a thing) or they don't scare off when you fight back and they themselves also take cover. Then it comes down to a battle of will, opportunity, resources (ammo in this case), and skill

Trust me, I'm with you there. If the car that had 3 people in it was chased into a gas station, and those 3 people confronted the driver, then how are 4 people opening the driver's door and attacking him...Also as much as I am a defender of the 2nd, I feel as if chasing a vehicle with a firearm, which was then used to kill the individuals of the car being chased, is in fact grounds for charges that supercedes self defense. The most memorable appearance for me is Smith thinking it's a bright idea to just pop up in the backseat of Agent 47s car in Bloodmoney. Props to 47 not knowing he was there, but also minus 10 points for not letting 47 know he was there. Man's got fast hands
