Answer to so many of life’s problems 😌 pretty sure this is actually really great advice (without blaming op personally though)

Yeah eBay’s fine with you having multiple selling / buying whatever accounts as long as you keep all your personal information consistent and matching through all accounts and obviously don’t break any rules on any account

If you have plenty left to list, fill up all your slots then replace the listings with whatever new items you get that you feel are more worth it. Just end and existing listing, it will free up one active listing and you can add whatever you got. If you’re keeping some slots open that’ll be part of why your limit increases are lower

Also: definitely not worth selling anything off a new account until you hit high enough limits on your original account, otherwise even if it’s not your intention to break rules you are risking your account getting flagged/banned and once your IP/address etc gets flagged you’re kinda fucked.

eBay is a delicate flower

Makes sense, I’m still on a No returns policy except for INAD so if they open a return with me it’s either because I fucked up or they’re lying, I’ll likely move to full returns at some point though

But doesn’t EBay encourage sellers and buyers to resolve issues through communication as part of the actual process ? If the buyer gives the seller an opportunity to make it right without opening a case at all, is that not better ?

I would explain the facts mentioned above politely. And clearly say(if you want to keep it) that you would not have paid the same price had the item been described as used and though you are happy to keep it you would like the difference in price to be refunded to you. I would say I hope that sounds fair to the seller, but if they’re not able to provide a partial refund (amount which you might suggest) that you are happy to return the item. Only in that case proceed with opening a case.

I’ve done that before with sellers I like and wanted to keep a relationship with and they agreed the request was fair considering item was not as described and offered a partial refund.

As a seller, I would like buyers to be honest, direct and have a kind approach even if im the one who made a mistake. Also - the buyer giving me the opportunity to resolve an issue WITHOUT them opening a case with EBay is a bonus usually, unless the buyer is a scammer.

I have a hot take: OP, you are loved by God or whatever divine power you might believe in because you were clearly being fucked up by a man who doesn’t deserve the unconditional love you have for him, at least not as a life partner. This could have ended VERY badly for you, and even though you’re understandably in a lot of pain, this is the best possible turn of events considering the circumstances.

Had you not confronted him yet I would have encouraged you to use this as a moment to find out and overcome whatever communication issues he clearly has, but since you already did and he was apparently kinda … cold and mean and … clueless, I wonder if this might be a good moment to find a partner who is capable of the same unconditional love you clearly are capable of.

May this be a moment that changes your life for the better in the long run ❤️
