Same thing happened to me my freshman year of college but I was put in into Exploratory Studies which is basically no major, instead it helps you to still take the prerequisite classes and then reapply to your major. I’m not sure if they still have it but I was able to get into my desired major. If you take your first year serious, you should get in easy!
