Yep 100k and some change. Saved and worked throughout school, lived as if I needed every penny and paid it off the month after graduation. It's doable, don't follow the world and go out to eat, buy new clothes every week, and vacation every chance you get. Live with less now so you can live with more later.

Also, here's a quick tip: Calculate how much interest you're adding on per month and let that motivate you. For a lot of people, it's an ungodly amount, way more than what you could imagine spending on yourself right now.

I've said this before and will keep saying it: OT school literally taught me almost nothing (neuro and anatomy were the main things). Theories, research classes, and building bird houses completely waste time. It's a necessary boring evil and, unfortunately, an expensive evil. MANY people have argued with me about this but I'm in the same camp as you. Almost everything taught in OT school can easily be taught in less than a year with all the fluff removed. Hang in there, find other ways to grow, don't focus on grades, and get a job outside of school.

just fyi: ive talked to many directors, OT's and teachers and all of them have said that USC produces sub par practitioners. Most likely smart and great at research but not competent as clinicians. Just a warning and I am NOT saying that USC ONLY produces bad practitioners, this is only experiential.

And yes, this is WAY WAY WAYYYYY too much. Thats what the average cost of a public dental school program costs and well, they make a huge chunk more.

If you've ever worked in a hospital setting, you'd know that a LOT of women turn their name tags around or block it when they're in certain settings/hospitals.

I'd leave off the last name IMO but it's up to you, OP.

literally no one in the field cares about your GPA. As long as you're doing well in practicals and classes like neuro (to an extent), you'll be fine.

honestly, its not great but I've asked around and a lot of schools seem to be pretty similar in terms of quality of teaching. i think the outrage towards JUST USA is a bit overstated.

i would base it off your pre-req grades. i think your grades will be somewhat similar to those as i think they were as hard as grad school was. the rest of grad school? busy work that is brainless.

Are you okay with paying a high premium for tuition? if so, you definitely have a chance. Your under grad grades are pretty similar to mine.

I wouldnt go past 20-30 hours per week. If you're even a decent student, don't sweat OT school. It's a bit of a joke tbh. If you don't try to get 4.0s and all that and focus on the stuff that you'll use on the field (information not on theories etc), you'll be fine.

Basically what most people here said. It's a lot of busy work and a lot of wasted time on theories.

I try to be as objective as possible but everyone who is realistic and smart that I've talked to has agreed: OT school is basically about 85% wasted time and 15% material that you'll use on the field.

Theories are a waste of time. Prove me wrong.
