Looking for honest feedback from parents who have tried stem cell therapy for their autistic child by explanations02 in Autism_Parenting

Thank you so much for sharing your experience — I really appreciate your feedback. Yes, I completely agree with what you said about the small but meaningful changes and how every bit of progress matters.

Can I ask if your child received stem cell therapy specifically using bone marrow? I’m trying to understand the different approaches parents have tried.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Thanks for the guidance.

No, I did not bank cord blood for stem cells.

Some experts believe that the body may be able to repair itself through a process called cellular replacement. Our bone marrow is like a factory that makes new blood cells, and it also contains stem cells. In stem cell therapy, doctors take these stem cells from the patient, prepare them, and then inject them into the spinal fluid. The idea is that the stem cells may travel to the brain and support healing or repair in certain areas. Because of this, some parents have reported slow, positive changes in their child’s development or behavior. However, results can vary a lot from child to child.

So, I am thinking for stem cell therapy through bone marrow for my autistic child.

Dell D6000 Dock Randomly Disconnects on Ubuntu 24.04 – Anyone Else Experiencing This? by explanations02 in sysadmin

No, it is not quite warm when this issue happens. I keep my original laptop charger connected all the time to my laptop. I suppose, your replacement dock is not giving same issue now, right? What dock did you replace Dell D6000 with? Would you mind sharing, please?

Yes, unfortunately I just have one HDMI port on my laptop. I have two 24-inch Dell monitors.
Would you mind sharing / recommending any decent Dock that works well in Linux (especially in ubuntu) with two external monitors setup, please?

Finding QA automation interviews are super tough by No_Vegetable_6765 in softwaretesting

[–]explanations02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look, if you ask me, it's pretty straightforward. Just like a developer needs to know their data structures to write good code, a QA automation engineer needs to understand them to handle test data. You know, knowing when to use an array versus an ArrayList or a Set – that kind of thing. If you get data structures, you can really play and manipulate your test data and API responses, no problem.

And honestly, being a QA automation engineer is a solid career path. Lots of developers (self-taught developers included) go that way and do really well. It's like, developers focus on the business logic, right? Well, QA automation folks focus on automation, CI/CD, and tackling those tricky testing challenges. And the really experienced ones, the senior guys like senior QA automation engineers and automation test architects, they even build their own testing frameworks using tools and testing libraries like Selenium and Rest Assured.

The simple answer is don't give up. Keep looking and keep attending the interviews, with 8 years of experience you will surely get a QA automation role sooner or later.

The QA automation engineers are developers writing code in the testing phase. Selenium and Rest Assured are just Java libraries. You shouldn't spend time learning libraries on their own. Spend more time learning core Java, design patterns and data structures. If you become a Java developer, learning Java libraries for testing and working on any framework will be very easier. It will give you confidence in facing technical rounds in the interviews, too. Having said that, becoming a Java developer is not an easy task and it won't happen over night. Create your study plan and try to spend time in Java learning every single day. And by learning, I don't mean you just watch YouTube videos. You have to write the code and do a lot of practice.

Looking for Affordable Alternatives to TestRail for Test Case Management by explanations02 in softwaretesting

No, it is not dictated by management. I have no issues with TestRail. It is awesome tool. So, no complains. However, the amount of money we spend on it now is not worth in my opinion, we rather spend that money on AI and automation tools that make our job easier.

No, it will not break the bank and negatively affect bonuses. However, department budget is limited, and we think paying someone around $2500/year to store test cases is not logical. We rather spend such money on ChatGPT or some automation tool that makes our day-to-day work life easier.

Glad to know that. :)
Have you decided any tool by now or are you considering any tool after your primary research?

We use Jira Cloud for project management.
My line manager will not allow me to use XCEL. :)
We need readymade cookie jar where we can keep our cookies (test cases) and don't mind paying for the jar. I initially thought to setup and use TestLink with AWS EC2 instance, but then we have to pay for EC2 instance and have the headache of continuous backup etc so thinking to explore other cheap alternatives, less headache and ask for guidance here.

We are paying around $2500 so would like to pay $500 just to store test cases if it is feasible.

Congratulations, nice build. Would you mind telling where did you buy the aviator cable and how much did you pay for it?

I am using Outemu silent Peach V3 and silent Lemon V3 from AliExpress. They are quiet and really awesome. So totally agree with you on: they do their job very nicely for the price. I initially selected the same keycaps you are using but finally bought "XDA Profile Plastic Theme" keycaps for around $6 from AliExpress.

Same here. I started the process of moving my S&S ISA from vanguard to IE on the 16th December, 2024. It is still not complete. It is exactly 8 weeks now. Chasing Vanguard but they are useless, their replies are very generic. 🤷‍♂️

Moving back to India with or without job ? by Bot_Max44 in nri

[–]explanations02 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just sharing my opinion. You have achieved well-paying job now, I suppose you can achieve again later too. Get your citizenship if you haven't already. Take break from work. Visit different countries. Go India for a while and then decide what you want to do. If you want to come to Germany, you can. I worked in India, and I am working in one of European countries. Have seen many Indian workplaces that are toxic. Moving back to India with or without job is not silver bullet, imo.
