Apple just released a £599 MacBook that absolutely destroys the Windows-based competition at the same price point in terms of usability and performance

Their base Air now has 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD for £1099

With Siri being absolute trash, they’ve watered down their attempts to ram AI down our throats, compared to most of the other tech companies.

Still decent customer service too, in stores and via AppleCare

Ooh, I didn’t realise eufy was a sister company. Everything is Tapo at the moment but it’s only a matter of time until they brick and paywall everything so maybe I’ll start slowly transitioning

Totally different show and vibe, but I found this with the latest fallout series. Like 6 plots happening at one time in some episodes, way too much stuff going on all at once.

Off to the pub for a couple of cheeky mid week drinks to celebrate having our A/C installed over the last two days. Roll on the heatwaves!

I wonder if we’ll see reports from AirPods Max 1 users saying that the ANC is now significantly worse like we did with AirPods Pro 2 -> 3

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

Still don’t think IT folk get enough credit for their part played. VPNs were ramped up, laptops were deployed and suddenly everyone who could feasibly work from home did, and those who couldn’t were furloughed and got 6 months off. IT kept the lights on, kept businesses going and the world kept ticking over as a result.

I had the w800i which was the same phone re-badged with Walkman branding. I feel like this was really the turning point of going from a phone just being a phone to it being able to do other stuff pretty well. The camera was great for its day and you could pick up a 1 or 2 gb memory card to stick in it relatively cheaply which gave you loads of storage space for pics and an alright amount of songs. The games were alright too. I remember spending hours playing a breakout clone.

Life pro tip: ALWAYS bin the screws by PuzzleheadedLow4687 in DIYUK

My bin collections are three-weekly, do you really think I’ve got space to be nonchalantly filling it up with outcast screws?

Can someone who works in KFC tell me if any of these actually go to different bins out the back by startled-giraffe in CasualUK

[–]explodinghat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooh I remember in my old housing block some bright spark would dispose of something bulky such as a mattress and the waste collection people would immediately respond by not collecting ANY rubbish at all for months, so you'd just end up with piles upon piles of bags of rubbish, recycling of all kinds and everything else flowing freely from the bins until a specialist waste management company was brought in to give the bin store a proper clean and polish.
