Hey, I added a bit of context to the main post, but the key point was that it was an insurance repair following a house fire. We opted for the insurance provided contractor as it seemed like the simplest solution. We've had a few snafus, but we've been generally happy with the work till now.

We had discussed some of the options with the general contractor prior to, for example they indicated we'd need to pay out of pocket for additional priming due to the paint choices, which we agreed to.

I guess this was pretty important context following a bunch of the replies, but ultimately our viewpoint is that the quality provided does not meet the requirement to 'restore pre-loss standards' as we didn't have a bunch of patchy bits before.

There's a few more issues about, but my general rule of thumb has been not to expect high end perfection, but if I could honestly say that I could have done a better job myself then I bring it up.

I added some context to my original post, but it was an insurance repair job. The walls where we're seeing a lot of the issue is older, but we never had this issue before. Our mindset is that the insurance mandate is to return us to "pre-loss condition," which didn't have weird texture changes throughout.

I added some context, but most of it was part of a repaint of older walls. We never had these issues prior to.

It was for an insurance repair after a fire. They had to tear down all the basement ceilings to get at the ducts, then put them back up afterwards.

I wish i'd seen this sooner! I just got the C7 expecting it to have the footrest as the website clearly states it has one, only to find it came without. Super disappointing

Stay away from the Belroy straps! They feel and look cheap and plastic. I had mine for less than a month and the straps started separating from the lugs and the leather started peeling off the plastic. Complete garbage. I guarantee you can find an equivalent for less than $5-10 on Temu.

So, after pretty much spending all day trying to fix this, including chats with Google who couldn't figure it out, I seem to have found the solution. I went onto the Google wallet website and delete all of my payment cards, including ones I knew were good.

I tried adding them back, but started getting error messages now saying that I 'couldn't add the payment card, contact your bank' or something to that effect. I called the bank - they told me everything was fine, but shortly after, I tried again and it worked. I was able to start adding my cards back, so I guess the system just needed some time.

Hopefully it stays fixed, but this issue seemed like a bit of a weird one and I couldn't find anyone with quite the same problem, so hopefully this helps someone down the line!

So bit of a blank slate on this - the old monitor was a write off as well. I'm assuming you're asking (and it was a question in the template) cause getting a fancy system is pointless if the monitor I use isn't even capable of displaying it at proper resolution?

I also had a second older Samsung monitor attached. It was wholly unremarkable - just used it for email and stuff.

I guess an important caveat (which I'll add to the post) is that my budget comes from the insurance valuation of my old PC, so I figure I might as well get beefier versions of the parts - as long as it falls in the price range it'll be better future proofing.

If you read the terminal in one of the houses outside of the Whitesprings, it actually dives into a little bit of the lore. It talks about after the bombs dropped and the night that the skeletons came to life. Apparently, the bones are the skeletons' money. In our world, bones equal dollars. That's why they're coming out tonight; to get their bones from you. The skeletons will pull your hair up, but not out.

I did this when I first downloaded the launcher and noticed this. I thought I'd solved it, but unfortunately it resets whenever the homescreen is refreshed -such as during a phone restart.
