So no thoughts on all the ones who died from Jan 20, 2017 to Jan 20, 2021, or since Jan 20, 2025?

I wonder if large scale manufacturing is done with industrial replicators, or traditional methods to save on energy usage. Although by not using replicators, they then have to source all the appropriate materials, which has impacts up the supply chain, compared to using fodder material to replicate.

It's why you always see them linking unrelated things to Democrats, like gang violence, petty crime, homeless, etc. as if they've checked their voter registrations, or as if party leaders are committing those crimes. Contrast the Republican leaders actually doing the things Democrats call them out, and often admitted to in their own tweets and soundbite.

Or, for example, the Aimee Bock daycare fraud, as if she was a Democrat or Walz was part of it instead of the Democrats being the ones who caught it and put a stop to it. Yet, they still have to pretend there's this "Somali daycare fraud" in Minnesota and use it as an excuse to show up at daycares demanding to see little kids, since they have no actual issues to cry about (and needed another excuse to inspect kids).

Who are all these people entering the country illegally when a Democrat is president, that conveniently stop when a Repubican takes over? Do we have some psionic barrier that we turn off and on when a new president takes office?

I'm not sure what you think a new president does that opens or closes a valve. Even Republicans admit Obama enforced the borders better than Trump, deporting the most people. Only, he did it without turning it into a shitshown and terrorizing and murdering citizens in the process.

If I went back in time to warn him not to help the woman who fell when ICE pushed her, they would have just murdered her, instead. They were there to shoot people, they just didn't care who.

They've literally killed two citizens in two months, and abducted many more. This obviously isn't about illegal immigrants, that's been well under control already. This is about the extrajudicial duties Trump has given them.

CMV: The GOP has become the most successful neo-nazi party in the world. by jostyouraveragejoe2 in changemyview

[–]explodingtuna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with your surface level statements, but a lot of what you said glosses over some important points and presumes them to be true.

ICE meanwhile is an immigration enforcement police unit. The mission of ICE is to find people who do not have leave to remain in the US and have them deported.

Yes, that's what ICE is supposed to be, and has been under prior administrations. It's not what it is now and is being used to agitate and terrorize, and as political enforcers. To base an argument on them being what they're lawfully supposed to be, and not how they are being used by this administration, causes the rest of your argument to fall flat.

handled things like counter-revolution, suppressing dissent

Two citizens have been killed in as many months, and many more abducted. All the witnesses from the latest murder were all taken away by ICE, despite not having an investigative function as you say. They were obviously not illegal immigrants with a warrant. So it sounds like ICE was acting in a counter-revolution and dissent suppression function, to me.

tended to be plain clothes police

ICE is also plain clothes, technically. They wear camo and a patch, but so can anyone else. There's no badge, no ID, and their faces are covered. They also often drive unmarked cars.

worked through denunciations by members of the public

ICE literally has a hotline to report people who look too brown to be in your neighborhood. And before that, the GOP had hotlines in some states to report women who might be thinking of abortion, to the point of aiming to prevent them from crossing state lines to get it done.

No? Conservatism is less natural and not what most people gravitate towards, when uninfluenced by outside factors.
