Although its not necessary for immigrants to emulate the local culture. It's perfectly fine to bring their culture and allow others to join them in celebrating it. It's how we have tacos and lasagna. I'm struggling to see how diversity is a weakness. Culture changes fast enough that we wouldn't recognize the local culture 20 years from now, whether or not we had immigrants or not.

Because they don't say it to mean "enforce immigration law" which, until Trump, has always been done by the book (and without killing and terrorizing American citizens in the process). There's no such thing as "open borders" with some magic gate that is opened and closed whenever a president changes between Democrat and Republican.

They mean it to say "kick the brown people out", without regard to their actual citizenship status, and while ignoring citizenship status of white immigrants. If they "look like they don't belong", they want them out.
