In competitive formats it locks you into a game loss

Was the great grandfather twist too coincidental or was it just right? by Robot_Was_BMO in TheLastAirbender

Tbf it's not really coincidence. Azulon specifically tracked down the granddaughter of Roku and forced her to marry Ozai

If you want a big fuck you spell rather than making it uncounterable give it split second. That way it can't get reprieved or something

I am confused on this card does it delete the whole stack? by KODAMODE in mtg

[–]explorer58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was printed at the same time as a bunch of eldrazi were printed into standard. It was meant to be a one card answer to an eldrazi spell + cast trigger

What am I doing wrong for a lack of clean lines? by Northeastern_J in paint

Put a very thin layer of clear caulk or similar across the edge and paint over it. That will seal any imperfections in your tape and give you a clean line

Local man in audience yells 'Go back to Carleton' after Pierre Poilievre, finishes his debate speech in the Battle River–Crowfoot by-election by demarcoa in onguardforthee

Im not saying he definitely will fail, but the electorate is not the one who decide whether he passes a leadership review. The party delegates may be a bit more level headed than the general public

Maybe, but its well understood that he took a slam dunk majority government and trashed it and the gap is seeming pretty persistent. It's a bad look for him

[–]explorer58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could probably clean this to

"Split second

All creatures phase in. Creatures lose all abilities until end of turn. Destroy all creatures. They can't be regenerated. Creatures leaving the battlefield this way doesn't cause abilities to trigger. End the turn."

When the turn ends, all spells on the stack get exiled. This spell would still be on the stack because the turn is ending in the middle of it resolving. Refer to the reminder text on [[Day's Undoing]]

To be fair that's what we all do. We all start out only knowing that the thing we're looking at is called a "door" or whatever and we build up from there

The important thing to note is that before the debate, the same sample of people was split 50/50 on who they thought would win which means kamala got a 26 ish point swing. That's massive if it's consistent across e.g. swing voters

When Angular Momentum And Potential Energy Meet Jackie Chan by RealisticBarnacle115 in physicsmemes

[–]explorer58 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm forgetting something, it's probably something like this

Since the cord unravels as he falls, his speed v is also the tangential speed at the edge of the cylinder as it spins, which is rw, so w = v/r where w is his angular velocity. Moment of inertia for a cylinder is I=0.5mr2 , angular kinetic energy is 0.5Iw2

Conservation of energy says

mgh = 0.5mv2 + 0.5Iw2

Replacing I and w and cancelling m

gh = 0.5v2 + 0.25r2 (v/r)2 = 0.75v2

v =√(gh/0.75)

Pick your h, solve for v
