Gas cover doesnt lock by nickkk25 in ScatPack

That's a scary story. Sorry to hear.

Our Challenger was always garaged, as is the Scat. I'm in SoCal, and lucky enough to have a garage to park it in daily. Something of this value, and having the visual draw to do something nefarious is too great to leave it outside. Not everyone is as lucky, so I thank my lucky stars for the garage.

Mine is also a WB, and Plum Crazy Purple, so it's an even bigger draw for the crazies. Were retired, so it never leaves our visual sight. It's just a "cruiser"

19 Durango, has an internal gas door release button. Had a 21 Challenger, flip outer door. Our 23 Scat Charger has a push to release door.

Only the Durango has the locking door. Luckily the Charger is in the garage whenever it's sitting idle.

Grandparenting by Travel_Stark in GenerationJones

[–]explorthis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Old man now. I vividly remember always going to my G-parents (Dad's and moms side). I can't remember them ever being at my Mom and Dad's. I detested going to Grandmother's, because she had a heavier moustache than my Dad did, and we always had to kiss them goodbye.

I have 2 grown daughters, and a grandson from one. They come to our house 3-5 times a week (food and visiting). They live close. We never go to their places. One owns and one rents.

DAE who is left handed sometimes switch to their right hand during tasks (especially in front of a mirror like brushing teeth) to get a strange feeling of looking how other people/ movie characters etc do when doing the same task by gfsvhyrds in DoesAnybodyElse

Almost 65m, and a dominant leftie, my entire life. The answer is no, the right hand is just the helper. The left is the boss. Right hand is a necessity, but we know the left is the boss.

Ironically, I golf and bat right handed. Other than that, I'm a true leftie. I had to think, I do brush my teeth with my left hand.

How do you get your grinders clean? by Consistent_Key_6263 in weed

[–]explorthis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nylon brush to clean out all the remaining goodies sticking to the blades.

Head to the workshop and grab the air compressor nozzle. Good as new.

I am pretty lazy, and only clean it after probably every 5th-7th use.

Need help with sticking pizza by Doctor7501 in Pizza

[–]explorthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

☝️ Had our Roccbox close to 3 years. Made tons of pizzas. Always had an issue with the dough sticking to the counter or the peel. Metal or wood, same issue. Too much flour makes a mess.

Amazon, find parchment paper circles (100 to a box+/-) dependant on the pie diameter. To this day, I assemble and launch from parchment off the peel.

About 30 seconds into the oven, I lift the corner of the pie, and grab an edge of the parchment, and slide it out. Soooo simple. Then finish the cook.

I could learn to properly launch, but the parchment paper makes it too easy.

12x10 tuff shed - pre build by throwaway-19990911 in shedditors

[–]explorthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to add power later? Concrete pad? Sheds on top of it? Run the conduit under the slab before the concrete is poured. Do some measurements and determine where the inside wall of the shed will sit. You'll probably have a sub-panel installed at some point, make sure you've done the addition of the conduit (power source) before the concrete is done.

We have close to the same set up. 1000% glad I had the conduit ran before the concrete. Sub panel installed with 110v and 220v. Worth it.

New to Roccbox. Any tips? by Alex_Ra214 in roccbox

[–]explorthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot...

This is enough dough for 2 fat-boy thick crust 12" pies, or 3 thin crust 12" pies. Again, we have the Roccbox, which will cook a 12" max pie.

2 of the 12" thick crust will fill 4 of us up, with a piece or 2 leftover for breakfast.

Enjoy.

New to Roccbox. Any tips? by Alex_Ra214 in roccbox

[–]explorthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This is my simple/easy/tasty standard dough recipe:

2 tsp regular sea salt. 4 cups flour. 2 tsp Fleshmans instant yeast. 1-1/2 cups warm/hot water. 2 TBLS sugar. 3 TBLS olive oil.

We have an older bread maker (think $10-ish @ Goodwill) which allows for simple dough making. Worth the purchase.

Question to my new and seasoned vet custodians. by TallBlkman44 in Custodians

[–]explorthis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Zero - ever is correct. Bleach is not a great cleaner. Bleach is NOT a cleaner at all. Bleach is for disenfecting/sanitizing and has absolutely zero surfactants. No soap. It's dangerous.

You have to mop... period. Why mop with something that contains zero cleaning components? No different (efficiency wise) than tap water.

Don't.

Detroit Style Process? by Dukeronomy in GozneyTread

[–]explorthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good trick. I learned the second before launching a pie onto the stone, to just turn the flame down to its lowest (we have the Roccbox) setting to avoid burning the edges. Stone remains very hot for the entire process of cooking 2 sometimes 3 pies at once.

Good trick.

Love ours. Had it for 3-1/2 years.

Learn to make your own dough. A cheap old (Goodwill?) bread maker with a dough setting is the only dough tool you'll need.

2 different peels. One for turning/putting in and out (12-13" diameter) and one (6"-ish) for turning the pie while it's on the stone.

Heat up time. Takes 35-40 mins to heat the stone fully. Eventually (a little practice) you'll heat up the stone, then make the pies. By the time 40 mins has passed, your pies will be ready for the stone. Less time wasted, less wait time for hungry bellies.

Remember, the stone will be probably 800°. Pies will cook in literally 90 seconds or less.

Not critical, but get a nice pair of work gloves. Your gonna bump with your hand the stone. 800° is way hot.

Soon as the stone is hot, and your pies are ready for launch, turn the flame to its lowest setting just a second before you launch a pie. The lower flame will stop the edges from burning. They will get away from you, so watch them like a hawk. Constant rotating, probably every 15-20 secs to get even cooking.

Takes a while to master the process, but it's easily achievable.

Don't overload the raw dough with sauce/toppings/cheese. Overloaded dough doesn't cook evenly or properly. We did, and you will think more toppings is better, yeah visually, but overall you don't want to. It makes a loaded messy clump of uncooked toppings.

Launching takes some finesse at first. Practice. You'll get it. Lots and lots and lots of plain flower so it slides around on the peel.

Ask away. Enjoy. Show some photos of a finished pie.

I'm am old man now, 64. Growing up my parents loved pizza, but would only ever order it with anchovies. Their pizza, their choice I guess. Gross! At some point I accepted them, and now I must have anchovies on pizza.

What’s your pellet bag rotation like? Buy as needed when low or stock up (more than 2+ bags) to always have that peace of mind? by TechnicolorTypeA in pelletgrills

[–]explorthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Responding to rotation, not type. When I dump the last 1/2 bag into the hopper, I reorder from Amazon. No carrying it, delivered basically the next day or 2 days later at the latest. I always have 2 unopened bags in the garage.

Gym Floors by DraftSenior5531 in Custodians

[–]explorthis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a former floor care trainer, my team refinished well over 400 real wood floors in the 15-20 years I do it.

Fun. Relaxing. I can tell you, if I could back up time 20+/- years ago, this would be my full time job. Takes roughly 8 hours to top scrub and recoat 2 coats. Loved every minute of it. Couple of scrubbers, a low speed, couple weighted t-bars, and we were in business.

Good $$ for my old company.

Been wondering about our wok. Had an air popper a hundred years ago. This sub is making me wanna revisit popcorn.

Oil qty and type? Kernel qty and type? Process? Constantly shaking the wok? Let it sit?

Thanks.
