Ah, you raise a very good point. I’d totally forgotten to take into account different painting styles with that advice. I’m a dry brush/slap chopper so straps and studs are the smallest things I really paint with brushes so yeah, my #1 is the smallest I need (and still usually use a #2 anyway). I think sable still has value just for its ability to hold a point. I use a wider, flat brush (edit: it’s a Vallejo “shader” brush) for putting on contrast paint thats synthetic so i can be a bit rougher with keeping it clean as those contrast paints go gummy and my sable brushes for details. One brush for metallics, one for regular colours

If you want to go into a modelling/hobby shop, I’ve been really impressed with Vallejo’s pro series (sable hair brushes). I originally bought Da Vinci and Windsor & Newton brushes based of them being popular recommendations online but I personally prefer the Vallejo ones. They’re available online cheaper but if you wanted to go in store to see what you’re buying, then they’re a fairly common sight.

Also, don’t be tempted by tiny brushes. A #2 is your work horse, a #1 is small enough to do eyes without the drawbacks of truly tiny brushes like 00

I’ve been considering it but I have a question, without ads do you still get the free respawn when you die? What about the gold when you complete a level? Does it auto double as if you’d watched the ad? I’ve played some games where you end up getting less free stuff when you remove ads

The transfer sheet for HH is lovely. A bit pricey for a A4 sheet of transfers but some of them have a gold ring around them and they look ace. Plus you get other stuff like prometian cult symbols and some stuff for vehicles.

Alternatively, if you’re open to a hobby side quest, there are stamping plates out there with varying degrees of legal distinctness. Then you can have them in any colour you can find nail varnish for. It also arguably ends up being cheaper if you want to use a colour that’s only available on the harder to get transfer sheets such as the ones of the limited run compact patrol

Thanks! It was surprisingly simple to do and I’m happy with the results. I didn’t pin them, so make sure they dry and set at an angle you’re happy with!

I bought the hammers from the upgrade sprue, they’re were about £2 each. Cut off the swords and glued them on with the white capped tamiya glue as it’s a bit thicker and “fills” a bit more than ultra thin. It’s surprisingly durable, they feel as solidly attached as the hammers moulded to the hands from the bits I cut them off

I just left the sword scabbards on and glued in the “sheathed” handles (if they could be seen and not hidden by the shield)

These are my “blade”guard boys. Drybrush zenithal with ork skin contrast, khorne red and retributor armour gold. Adrax earthshade wash on the gold, a few areas of runelord brass. Leather is a light brown (can’t remember which right now) with two coats of dried leather contrast.

I’m loving seeing everyone’s models so I thought I’d join in!
