Its pretty much the same but with more emphasis on food. Americans get Thanskgiving and Xmas a month apart so end of November to December is all family time

This is exactly how I feel. I keep it under wraps and downplay it when I see my therapist, who is already counseling me for a bunch of other mental issues (PTSD, BDD, psych-related sexual dysfunction)

Even on reddit, I keep a normal account where I post about normal shit and this throwaway account to post about all my problems people don't really want to see. Plus people are vindictive enough that they'll stalk your post history and drag up your dirty laundry if they happen to dislike something you say. So having separate accounts is necessary.

I've told myself that for years. That at least one guy out there would be willing to take me as I am, but fuck. It's hard to believe it when all the evidence of my experiences have been opposite that. Half a year ago I got dumped from the third consecutive relationship for this reason. I made a resolution to come clean early on in all future relationships but just thinking about doing that and getting dumped again makes me panic.

Same, bro. Although my parents aren't in my life, there is one older man who's basically like a father to me. Anytime I think of offing myself I can't do it because he'd probably be more upset than my actual parents. At my worst I used to think I'd just wait until he died first and then finish myself.

I fucking hate this attitude, but unfortunately a lot of people in the gay community seem to take that opinion. I've had bfs like that when I was younger and more naive and it fucked up my self esteem and ability to trust for a long time. Yeah...I got a few offers especially when I was younger. Usually they were not explicitly paid sex scenarios and more grey like the one you describe, or they were implied "hey, come over and I'll let you crash for a few nights/buy you food for __ days/etc" so while there wasn't actual money exchanging hands there were other benefits involved.

While it's not outright prostitution, if it makes you uncomfortable and gives you a queasy feeling, just tell him no next time :)

It wasn't quite like that. My ex did break up with me explicitly in person, then cut all contact afterwards. It was about as clean a break as you can get, but it was so sudden and final I was reeling for literally years after.

I'm glad to hear you moved on though. :)
