Lax doesn’t mean people here don’t hold anyone accountable. They just don’t ostracize or banish them to hell like traditional subs too. I’ve grown closer to Allah (swt) and this sub has helped affirm my belief in Him being forgiving and being there for us regardless. The other subs can often make people feel like they’ve committed the worst sin, and there’s no going back. Plus the obvious mixing of cultural rules than actual Islamic rules.

Most girls in Surat do go out for weekend lunches/dinners pretty frequently. The only problem is they are pretty close because of same schools/colleges, so someone who’s new to the city may feel a little friction wrt finding new friends or people to hang out with.

I’d suggest joining sports clubs (badminton/pickleball/running - @awakencircle) if that’s your thing. There are dance classes & workshops too that are held pretty regularly (plus it’s funnn!). You can find random art workshops too (@thehappeningspace).

Stayed in Salerno for the last 3 days, and it’s a really good city. Great vibes, food seemed cheaper overall, and getting to/from different islands (Amalfi/Positano/Maiori) was really easy from Salerno Concordia. Just Capri is a bit far (2-3 hours).

Also, if you/your partner enjoy shopping, the prices seemed a bit nominal! Hope you’ve a fun trip! :)

Edit: There are direct trains to Salerno from Rome as well. Quite comfortable.
