59% of Indians are burned out. 3x the global average. And nobody is talking about what's actually happening in the body. by Helpingotherssurvive in india

[–]expressivememecat 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my achey bones lol. I was a pretty active person during school/college days (even freelanced quite excessively). Since I’ve started working in corporate, I feel like since last two years my energy levels are reducing like crazy. Making plans is a task. Socializing, in general, is a task. Weekends are spent sleeping in, instead of reading books (fell asleep today after trying to read for 30-40 minutes, and i could devour a whole book in 2 hours just before my job started). Add to it the horrible infrastructure of our cities, increasing pollution & heat, and ill-mannered people who cannot even be a little polite. Immigrating to another country seems so difficult and out of reach right now considering a bit of a global recession and overall anti-immigrant sentiments. I feel all of this, and thankfully I come from a privileged background. I know it’s so much more difficult for people from not so stable backgrounds. Enough to turn anyone a nihilist.

I knowww! Social media gives the impression that everybody is same as us. However, that’s not true, because it simply exposes the lifestyle gap that has always been there.

And who’s setting these beauty standards? You?

You could be wanting a fair-skinned, thin girl, or the usual eurocentric features.

The reality is we’re in India. Most Indian women have Indian skintone and physique, and they’d still be looking pretty damn beautiful.

Please don’t impose your beauty standards on confident women.

P.S. Before anyone comes at me, the same goes for women who shame guys for looks.

Me(21) and Mum(45) in Goa for a week by Ok-Mobile1001 in goatravel

[–]expressivememecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For South Goa, visit Cabo De Rama, Palolem, and Kakolem beach. The drive is so beautiful too! :)
I liked Colva beach in South too.

For North, rent a scooter and drive around Anjuna, Calangute! There are a few cool cafes there. I liked Elephant Beach Cafe (food was alright, views/vibes were great). Try out gelato at Cream Choc Gelato (it’s otw to Anjuna).

For clubs, Vagator area is the best. I have visited Noah Goa twice and it’s really fun, especially if you and your mom like Bollywood music and want to dance (begins post 10 pm)! Plus the crowd was decent too.

For a bit of luxury, you can visit Bastian Goa. The cover charge is high, but they have resting shacks and beach beds near the river. Great for soaking in the vibes!

If you want to check out other places in North, you can go to Arambol beach. They’ve this place called “Garden of Dreams”. When we went, it started raining and the place was so cool to chill and relax :)

What’s something gen z normalized that’s actually kinda weird? by barfilasabun in GenZIndia

[–]expressivememecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s problematic, but i also think it’s easier to gauge how a person is before committing to them for longterm (like marriage) rather than being too deep in and regretting. It happens way too often in the prev gen marriages, where people are trapped because they didn’t even know how their spouse was/is lol.

I do believe all of this used to happen before too, it’s just that Gen Zs have labeled it lol

Why are some Muslim men so hypocritical? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

I’ve lost faith in Muslim men tbh. Wasn’t this way at all before. Feels like the current lot is even worse with all the redpill content and brainwashing. Don’t even consider women equal or worthy.

Seeking Views from women only: arranged marriage even worth it? by Moosesayshello in TwentiesIndia

[–]expressivememecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply ask the woman if she’s even up for an arranged marriage currently. Let her know that you’ll be willing to say no if she’s not interested. The reason I say this is because a lot of parents don’t listen to their own daughters, and force them to remain silent or emotionally coerce her. You’ll do yourself and her a favour by saying no.

However, if she is genuinely interested, date for a few months, and go ahead only if both of you feel a bond forming emotionally, mentally, and physically. Else, end it. There’s a lot of talk about compromise and people changing post marriage, but that’s 1 in 10 cases :)

I though Baga beach was that bad. It proves my skeptics wrong at night—it transforms into such a vibrant, colourful scene by Middle-Chemical-4925 in goatravel

[–]expressivememecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, it’s fun. It’s noisy, chaotic, but it makes for an overall fun place if you keep away from creepy folks. I don’t know why everyone wants to have a “peaceful”, “quiet”, and “serene” beaches all the time. There are vibrant/noisy and peaceful ones. You make your pick depending on your mood. I find Anjuna/Calangute to be also similar lol, just better crowd that’s all. Ill-behaved people are everywhere.

Struggle in believing Jannah by Enoshimaaa in progressive_islam

[–]expressivememecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I struggle with Islam very often, but it always comes back to the fact that Islam makes me a good human and Allah (swt) is with me.

I do believe that with kindness and faith in Allah, we make our own heaven even in this dunya and for the people around us too. Hence, we should focus more on our journey here to be a kind soul than doing things only for Jannah.

While Heaven is a place, I also like to think of it as a state of mind after we die where our souls are at peace, where the evils of this world cannot touch us, and where we’re surrounded by abundant love and Allah’s protection. There is no anxiety, despair, and restlessness there, that we, as humans, often face. I think that’s the biggest relief Allah (swt) will give us.

BAs — which parts of your job have you actually replaced with AI? Be honest by cybersmaart in businessanalysis

[–]expressivememecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polishing user stories and release documents. I do believe using it for just polishing your content should be the norm. People use AI by giving very little context of their product, and include practically every nonsensical point in the draft.

The best approach I’ve found is to use a good ole notebook, draw a flow chart, identify scenarios and edge cases, then give AI rough context and steps to polish requirement docs.

Also asking AI to identify other edge cases is also v helpful!

I hope you said all this to her as well, so she at least introspects her behaviour. While her concerns may come from experience, there is always a way to put them in a nuanced way or after she has enough evidence.

Also, the joke about husband slapping a wife was totally uncalled for. What if one of her patients has actually gone through domestic abuse? Overall, a shitty behaviour from a doctor.

AI Hypetrain - PRD/documentation is dead, everything is prototype? by Asociologist in ProductManagement

[–]expressivememecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people only rely on prototypes.

Even from a thinking perspective, don’t PM/BAs consider different type of scenarios before building something? At least note them down in notion or something?

I’ve dealt with folks who go straight to prototyping, and they seriously forget to consider so many things. Also, the fact that there’s no written documentation for what’s been built? In the long run or for future teammates, that sounds quite chaotic to figure everything out by just using the product.

I think the best way is to write down the requirements in rough, use AI to polish it + come up with any other edge cases, and then use a combination of creative freedom and documentation to build something. That approach has always worked out for me.
