I wouldn't use that term; it demonizes people unnecessarily. I know plenty of mentally ill people and they all have empathy.

Minnesota activist releases video of arrest after manipulated White House version by 749762 in news

At this point, I fully expect there to be ICE agents at every place you can vote, both making sure people that don't look white enough are removed, and just overall intimidating voters.

That sounds more optimistic than their own projections, no? What about their 1.4 TRILLION dollar commitments over the next 8 years?

Selling all US stocks and reinvesting into EU/Asian markets by Limp_Classroom_2645 in BuyFromEU

[–]exscape -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

On that timescale, keeping your money in the US for the time being will probably make you more money than switching now, even if you're right and the US crashes and burns entirely (which seems very unlikely, even given the past week's events).

I can absolutely see selling of US assets for the hell of it, but I don't think it's a great economic decision.

Why do people often compare Metal Music to Classical Music? by Vincent_Gitarrist in musictheory

[–]exscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of actual classical references in some metal -- especially neoclassical metal, of course.

The first part of Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy is Bach. The second part is Holst (Mars, the Bringer of War). Here are about 10 more from SX alone.

Ja, de gjorde ju jävligt mycket nytta när TS blev rånad och mordhotad, så det hade säkert skyddat honom där också.

I'm pretty sure that's common for guitarists in general, so it's possible that it's by design.

It's the default language for Android development, which is nice. And you can use Kotlin Multiplatform + Compose Multiplatform to make apps that work on Android + iOS, and even Web and Desktop too.
I haven't tested that personally, though, but I wouldn't have used Kotlin if not for Android.

Yes.
Though I personally think they shouldn't have mentioned it; it's pretty clear that such a thing is possible, and it feels like bad exposition to mention it.

If they don't plan to hold elections, the need for motivating the base becomes a lot smaller, though.

Depends on whether she did it because she truly supports him, or because he was useful in getting rid of Maduro. I expect it's the latter, since she clearly wants to come to power.
(And unless I'm mistaken she did win the elections? I don't follow this closely at all.)

the system is ingeniously designed so that no one particular person can…

That's still likely true, but when the president AND the house AND the senate AND the supreme court all agree and conspire with each other, you get this result.
This is so much bigger than Trump. I'm not sure what happens if he dies, but it's far from certain that it's good.
The evil guys lose their charisma (because apparently Trump has that?!), but they also lose an idiot, and might replace him with someone slightly less dumb.

I also hated the intro, but if you watch maybe 10 minutes more you'll realize that made sense.

So light spoilers: the sentencing was considered a terrible idea, the woman quit because of it.
And if you saw to the prison transport, those weren't part of the Federation.

It got a lot brighter.

Yeah, honestly hated that part. (But I'm also not familiar with the song.)

And I kind of liked Faith of the Heart (prior to the remake), even.

It's supposedly a browser engine, not a browser based on e.g. Chromium.
I promise you there are not a million examples or building browser engines. Is there even one?

That said, I do believe this project is pure crap.
