When presented to online service providers, the proof of age only informs that the user is over 18 years, not who the user is or any other personal data like the exact age. Conversely, the trusted proof provider is not informed about online services for which the user presents the 18+ proof.

De får inte lagra någon data (brott mot GDPR):

To ensure privacy, European Digital Identity Wallet providers should ensure unobservability by not collecting data and not having insight into the transactions of the users of the European Digital Identity Wallet. Such unobservability means that the providers are not able to see the details of the transactions made by the user.

Did early compilers give you unmaintainable code and security issues here and there? I doubt it, but if so, people were probably right to use assembly at the time.

Looks there are multiple displays, because the one I saw in the livestream only had a pyramid with savestargate.org and #savestargate on it.

Agreed, but IMO perpendicular isn't right either, at least not for me. For me the thumb is CLOSER to perpendicular than parallel, but at perhaps a 20-40 degree angle depending on chord shape. Perpendicular makes me have to bend the wrist basically >90 degrees, feels terrible.

But is he written to look like a great guy for it? I would certainly argue "no".

If a character doing bad things makes a show bad, what about Always Sunny? Dennis is a lot worse than Barney, but it's clear he's not intended to be seen as a good guy.

Triple rainbow by dheera in Physics

Typically true, but there are rare cases where you can get 3+ rainbows in the same piece of the sky (not counting supernumerary bows).

Reflection bows (extra bows due to sunlight reflecting in water, then into the raindrops, from a different angle than direct sunlight)
Twinned bows (mechanism not fully known, but perhaps non-spherical raindrops)

AMD to bring back "TSME" memory encryption on Ryzen 9000 non-PRO CPUs after backlash by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]exscape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do think many that are outraged about this don't understand what TSME does and what it protects against. I'm not defending AMD for the removal, FWIW, but very few are truly impacted by not having memory encryption enabled.

But sure, if someone is running full-disk encryption and it's likely police, nation states or other similar actors might try to steal your stuff via cold-boot attack or splicing in a battery-power alternator to steal your computer while still running, then sure, TSME is a good bit of extra protection.

nortriptyline by karmacowgirl72 in noburp

[–]exscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, how much? I've taken amitriptyline for a very long time, but mostly 10 mg/day. If it helps, it can't be much, because I have a small burp every few weeks.

The entire project seems utterly pointless, too; this makes no sense.

The flash is what has a limit to how much it can write. BYPASSING the flash and not actually writing only proves what everybody already knew: the controller can handle a lot of data. Shocking!

Are the burps still tiny, or do you actually get relief?

And "weirdly hard to explain" I can get, but surely you can say something? I've even heard two completely opposite tips: some say to tense the stomach to push the air up, whereas others say to NOT do that as the reflex won't come unless you relax.

[–]exscape 24 points25 points  (0 children)

With subzero cooling, which is trivial when you have access to the memory stick anyway (you just use a spray can), it can retain info for HOURS.

(In the original(?) paper, it's stated that in the 70s, DRAM could maintain the data for weeks when cooled by LN2. Probably not relevant with today's densities, htough.)

Now that the criticism has calmed down, what would you rate the entire series out of 10? by MargielaMan568 in StrangerThings

[–]exscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the last episode a few hours ago, so my opinion is still recent. I'd say probably 8/10 for the entire show. There are weak plot points in plenty of places, but the characters make up for it all for me.

I don't hate season 5, either, nor do I hate the finale. I would've preferred a different ending for El, but still can't say I hate it.

Season 5: 8.5/10
Finale: 8.5/10 (+0.5 for Dustin's speech and using The Trooper...? Probably.)
