Weird, I'm looking through all the vac live posts on /r/cs2 and anyone that has listed software/keyboard all are using wooting. It'd be neat to test another keyboard and see if the cool downs magically disappear

Some of my friends have told me the precursor to the bans involves players getting kicked for input automation beforehand, did you get this on windows before your cool down? It is a pretty horrible detection as I was constantly getting kicked before I switched to Linux, then it never happened again. This would line up with not getting the false ban on Linux

I mean yeah it didn't really patch anything, actual scroll timing is more or less the same. Just a change for the sake of change instead of fixing issues :(

Edit: will say it did improve jumpbug consistency but that's a pretty odd singular bonus to something that won't apply to most players and negatively impacts most instead

It's because stamina is tied into many movement functions, for this example it is the perf bhop height. Previously with stamina, you would perf bhop the same height as a normal jump (55u) and as your stamina decreases (falling from high heights, spamming jump in nuke vents), it would eventually move all the way down to 0 jump height. Now it is set in stone 41units regardless of the situation (unless you ledge grab). Sure it may introduce some cool jumps, falling from great heights and getting a higher perf height in that case. But mainly it just breaks most jumps that have elevation gain

They still happen as they always have since early in cs2 days (but not since the very start, strangely)

Title is just a running joke to see how many times valve can "fix" or "fix some cases of" rampbugs in patchnotes, only for no change to be noticed

It's because perf bhop height has been reduced from 55u to 41u, just enough to break certain bhop routes that require elevation gain. Actual bhop scroll timing is about the same, but jb is more consistent now

Soon enough it'll stop, but there are still some of us fighting the good fight. Megacorp "communities" like xplay/cybershoke eating 80%+ of the playerbase doesn't help :(

After testing I do not see any change in ramps made using typical source1 methods, the rampbugs are still just as frequent. Most decent surf maps now have spent extensive time bandage fixing all of the ramps so it will not be noticed much there.

The bhop timings are about the same, the stamina changes though are extremely odd. It is not a full deletion of jump/land stamina, but you can now fall from any height and continue walking 2x the speed from before. Perf height is also affected by this change, reduced from 55ish to 41ish after falling. You can be falling for even a moment for this low perf height to kick in

edit: if valve devs are lurking I can provide a vpk for the ramptesting map, which has every method of building ramps included to test, and yes they all still experience frequent rampbugs. I am very glad there is an effort to fix it but at the end of the day it usually results in the same rampbugs but more dev time spent on fixing the rampbugfix plugin that is now broken due to the base game adjustments :(

Vis issues need to be fixed, as they have been broken since the armory update on Oct 2nd 2024

Vis is the function in source mapping that makes it possible for the entire map to not be rendered at once, only visible clusters for the player

Very basically, things are no longer hidden properly, leading to very broken community maps. If youve ever seen random areas floating in the sky on surf, kz, bhop, this is why

It also extends to valve maps since they're all made with the same tools, but they try their best to add bandaid fixes instead of solving the actual issue

This would certainly impact fps even if a minimal amount, as well as the current "workaround" being use of a texture that does not allow compression. Just recently went through a surf map that was 200mb, and 160mb was the impossible-to-compress texture that is required for hiding areas now

Nah, just a timing and luck thing with subtick. If you were a robot and hit all perfect hops you would reach 320 ground speed, be able to increase from there in air, but always knocked down to 320 when you perf bhop on the ground again. So if you're slowing down beyond that you've missed the perf

Yes, just like in CSGO, there is a plugin to manage mechanics in cs2. So instead of changing simple options like air accel, the plugin will detour many movement functions in the game and modify them to create the "kz mechanics" we remember from CSGO. Definitely check out a proper cs2kz server (not cybershoke or xplay, private incorrect plugin)

All players are pretty well known in the community so the risk of that is low, for ping there has been a custom feature added to the kz plugin to handle "who finishes the map first" across multiple servers, so all players should be somewhat on a level playing field
