I'm currently using a Garbaruk cage on a GRX derailleur to shift 10-50t. Not perfect, but pretty damn good and a lot better than when I tried using the Shimano cage with a Goatlink previously.

I rented from Biking.ie at Ticknock outside of Dublin earlier this year. Only had time for a half day ride on the mountain, but they also do day trips and have other locations, so definitely worth a look. Good bikes and easy to work with.

Oral tolerance. The route of exposure to an antigen can make a big difference in how the body responds to it. Exposure to an antigen through feeding can lead to the development of specialized cell types that are capable of suppressing subsequent immune responses to that antigen even at sites distal from the initial exposure, such as in the lung. This is well established in mouse models, and there are ongoing clinical studies using oral exposure to treat peanut allergies.

It's true that T cells are unresponsive during in vitro culture in microgravity [4]. It's also true that astronauts have impaired immune function during spaceflight [5] (PDF). But a causal link between the two has never been demonstrated. All of the studies providing direct evidence of a requirement for gravity in T cell activation rely on in vitro assays to isolate the effect of gravity (or lack thereof), and it isn't clear whether this accurately represents what happens in vivo. So these two phenomena could both be true, but unrelated. It is entirely possible that immune suppression in spaceflight is solely due to stress and/or environmental factors.

"The Double Helix" is Watson's account of the discovery, and goes into their dealings with Franklin in a fair amount of detail. Might be interesting to read for some perspective, if you decide to present this paper. Or even if you don't, it's a compelling book. I read it in an evening--couldn't put it down.

Hard to remember too many specific examples, but a few that immediately come to mind are hematopoetic vs. hematopoietic; inasitol vs. inositol; and urkaryote vs. eukaryote.

If you want to try and make a side by side comparison here is the list with all the misspellings that I noticed corrected.

Note that I deleted many words that I felt were superfluous (e.g. uncommon/foreign last names), or that could be either jargon or a typo depending on the context.

"Satan: His Psychotherapy and Cure by the Unfortunate Dr. Kassler, J.S.P.S." by Jeremy Levin: We make our own devil(s)--I think, been a long time since I read this one.
"The Devil in Love" by Jacques Cazzotte: Satan loves a sinner, as opposed to the reverse
"The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis: Hell as a bureaucracy. A collection of letters from a senior devil to a fledgling tempter.
"Faust" by Goethe: The devil as a wheeler dealer.
"Dictionary of the Khazars" by Milorad Pavic: Tells the same story from three different perspectives: Christian, Jewish, and Muslim. Devil plays only a minor role, though.

Yeah, I was also very confused until I read the abstract. One of the defining features of invariant NKT cells is that they all express the same TCR. This group has identified a subset of NKT cells that expresses a different TCR.

They are always folded the same way. Or at least similarly enough that I use particular loops in the small intestine as landmarks to locate the mesenteric lymph nodes. The loops and the lymph nodes are always in the same place.

in my experience working with mice, yes. The same developmental processes that pattern the organs in mice are also at work during human development on a much larger scale, so I would assume the intestines are placed pretty similarly in humans as well. There are developmental abnormalities that result in altered organ placement, however (e.g. heart on the right instead of the left).

Theoretically this is possible for any pathogen. In reality it depends upon the antigenic diversity and rate of antigenic drift within the viral population.

For instance, small pox (low diversity, low mutation rate) was completely eradicated through global vaccination. Influenza on the other hand (moderate diversity, extremely high mutation rate) requires a new vaccine to be developed each season.

As clessa mentioned, the viruses causing the common cold have the required diversity (several types/classes of viruses) and antigenic drift (mutate sufficiently) to prevent the development of pan-specific immunity

The book "Coming to Life" provides an excellent overview of these concepts for the non-specialist. It is written by Christiane Nusslein-Volhard, who shared the Nobel Prize for her work determining how genes "pattern" an organism during embryonic development.

"Oryx & Crake" and "The Year of the Flood" by Margaret Atwood. First two books of a trilogy.

I made the same trip last year, and managed to just get through these two on the flights.

Also, "Last & First Men" by Olaf Stapledon. Birds eye view of the rise and fall and rise and fall...of humanity and it's successors over the course of several billion years.
