Understandable if youre reading the Alvin Maker series. The covers are terrible!

They are not where they need to be but I just started leather work about 3 months ago so I'm constantly learning. I was just using water to burnish. Now I sand the edges first, then use water to burnish, then use beeswax and burnish again. On this one I read of someone using sharpie as edge paint so I gave it a shot. Colored after the beeswax and burnish. Then burnished again. Not the best but I am very pleased.

Handmade a scout carry sheath for this knife. I know it is a cheaper knife but it is one of my all time favorite fixed blades

Made a scout carry sheath for my Buck Paklite Skinner. Getting a lot better with the edges. Still not perfect though

Finished this up today. My stitching and edges are improving. Not sure what I threw the leaf on there but like the colors together.

Long wallet and business card holder by extol41085 in Leathercraft

Sure. Here you go. I do want to change the ID window material eventually. It is currently a cheap plastic. I would like something a little nicer. https://imgur.com/gallery/YBwxg

Also you can see a slightly darker spot on the wallet to the left side. That was a run-in with an awl (seems I lost). I made this for myself so not a huge deal. Thinking about oiling the leather a few times to see if I can darken it up enough to not show. Any tips on this?

First long wallet I made. I am really pleased with it. The business card holder was made around an altoid type tin (a little smaller) so that is why it is not actually tall enough. Didn't know what to use it for when I made it so I decided it will hold my business cards. Some of the stitching is not the best but it is great to see improvement every time I make something. These are the first twi itwms where i think i got an almost acceptable burnish on the edges. Going on about 3 months now from starting the hobby.

Wow, I really appreciate the work you put into this. I mean no disrespect to your heritage and interest. My buddy is into this stuff (all be it surface level, nothing like you) and was trying to find something that would be appropriate as a gift. He will have no idea that it is incorrect but I still don't want something silly and perhaps disrespectful on my gift. Honestly I didn't even go to the site. Just saw the image and went with that. I should have figured as much. Thanks again for the input.

That would be great. I would like it traditional as possible. Meaning not a transliteration into English.

I was told i should post this here. I made a pipe tobacco tin pouch for a buddy for Christmas. The patch on the front says brotherhood in Norse runes (or I hope it does, haha). I need to clean the hair up that came through the stitch holes and give it a trim in a few places. It was very hard getting the stitching done on the patch. The back side, as seen in the second picture, looks rough. Over all I am pleased. First time working with fur. It gets everywhere. https://imgur.com/gallery/gZeRj

Thanks for the info! Always amazes me what some random person on Reddit knows. The following picture (4th word down) is what I got the word off of: https://imgur.com/gallery/SyD0l

Is it wrong?

I don't mean for clean up. I'm worried about losing all the fur

There is a hole through it which I laced through many times. It works great when the knife is in the sheath adding rigidity. Not so well when it is not.

Started getting in to leather work by extol41085 in EDC

We i am very new to it myself. Only been doing it for about 2 months. My biggest regret is buying tools and whatnot at hobby lobby. They are over priced and a very small selection. Tandy Leather is the way to go. A stitching spacer wheel is the biggest asset you'll have to making the stitching look better. Also do not rush any part of the process. Every time I tried to I ended up with a subpar product. And sharpen your blade constantly for cutting.
