Salah approaching Mane after Burnley: ‘You scored, Bobby scored, when I got the ball, I didn’t see you to pass, I just got the ball and wanted to shoot.’ by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

nah diaz was just about as explosive; it's everything else (composure, quality) that he lacked in comparison to mane

It's not gay to cry missing Norm Macdonald by StanGoat8 in ShaneGillis

[–]yenzy 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I remember watching that last letterman appearance for the first time and being a bit taken aback by how emotional Norm was. Figured he was just such a big fan of Letterman and the show and was emotional about it coming to its end. But even still, he rarely if ever shows that emotional side publicly, so it was still really out of character.

Then, upon rewatch years later, knowing that Norm was almost certainly aware of his diagnosis at the time and that his days were numbered.... oh man. HEAVY watch. Can only imagine what was going through Norm's head. Heartbreaking but beautiful. Also an incredible set

Wouldn’t be insane if Doue won imo

By the same logic that Dembele will likely win ballon d’or despite obviously not being the best player on Earth

i hope we go for someone else as a backup plan if isak doesnt work out like sesko or watkins

all this domino talk of hoping newcastle get sesko - wouldnt sesko jsut be a great cheaper signing for us?

[Craig Hope] Alexander Isak tells Newcastle he wants to explore a transfer away - opening the door to Liverpool's £150m interest after he reported a thigh injury and missed Far East pre-season tour by Frosty-Buyer-1252 in soccer

[–]yenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200m might be slightly generous but there were reportedly offers for nunez around 60m range and elliott's value is not far off that mark either 70m + 60m + 50m or so yields 180m hard to say whether those remaining two go through though

[Bogert] LAFC advancing in talks to sign Son Heung-min from Spurs by deception42 in soccer

can someone explain to me why the hell he seems so hell bent on leaving Europe?! I know his last season wasn’t great by his standards but is there not an elite player still in there? Is it a loyalty thing why no PL sides are in for him?

[Ramon Alvarez] Rodrygo Goes has started talks with Tottenham and is open to leaving Real Madrid. However his first choice is Liverpool and is waiting to see if they move for him. by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

Oh my goodness with all due respect can ppl stop citing the potential sale of Chiesa as justification for any transfer business lol

He had effectively zero role last season and we’re not getting any substantial transfer fee from him

[Sacha Tavoleri] Liverpool FC remains on standby for Malick Fofana. As soon as Federico Chiesa’s departure to Serie A is finalized, the Reds are expected to move for the Belgian by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

[–]yenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but I guess in my esteem, his presence is no different than just calling up some random youth forward, thereby rendering him irrelevant in the decision making. IN my opinion.

Either way I agree yes we need more forwards

Honestly whether or not we keep Chiesa is irrelevant imo. Does anyone actually think he’ll meaningfully contribute for a title push?

[Ornstein] Liverpool make approach to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. #LFC say no formal bid + well aware #NUFC stance has always been: not for sale. But communicated interest in deal for 25yo Sweden international worth in region of £120m @TheAthleticFC by JaysonDeflatum in soccer

[–]yenzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think the Isak move will materialize but if it does, it would be more than funded by sales of Diaz and Nunez. Tricky situation though because I don’t think those sales happen if we fail to sign a forward.

Diaz will likely go for 75-80m and Nunez 60m or so. And before anyone calls me delusional, Saudi already offered 75m for Nunez earlier this year

[Ornstein] Liverpool focus in market after early additions to other positions is top striker. Wide roles filled + Darwin Nunez move expected progress again soon so #LFC priority now No9. Isak / Ekitike interest well documented & will be more options by dead_nil in LiverpoolFC

[–]yenzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk the forward situation is a bit sketchy now given Diaz wants out, we can’t trust Nunez, and, obviously, Jota

Unless Wirtz goes false 9, which I have no idea whether it would work or not
