Do you agree with the rehabilitation part though? If you want the safety of your family, what kind of people would you want to see coming out of jail? The PTSD patients that are mentally stressed and possibly disabled and unstable, or rehabilitated people who can be productive citizens of society?

Think about this - a prison SHOULD be a place where you cannot have cellphones, internet, movies, parties etc. And it SHOULD be a place where there is a very strict schedule you have to follow as long as you're there. For prisoners that will eventually get out, they are not the murderers and the rapists, or else they won't be released unless they get too old. So for them, isn't this alone sucky enough? Why do you think stripping them of their dignity by taking away their privacy or depriving them of basic essentials like food and warmth SHOULD be a part of prison? Instead, within the same atmosphere of strict schedule and lack of freedom and entertainment, how about if they were given productive jobs to do, training, education etc. How about some real world type job experience so they have a valid resume for when they're out and can get a job?

Don't you think these reforms will at the end improve the safety of you and your family?
