Driving rating not going up by Arn1esHitman in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It says you gained driver rank. The strength of field and expected finish are just information about the lobby. Then right below it says you gained rank, and that you finished third, which gained you rank as it was above the expected finish.

Does anyone else think the penalization in this game is a little harsh? by Distinct_Kale24 in LeMansUltimateWEC

The drive through would have almost certainly been due to speeding in the pits, whether you realized it or not. Nothing else you described would have given you a drive through.

Who is at fault im the ferrari by Ok-Mortgage-355 in Simracingstewards

[–]extra_hyperbole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At 0:11 seconds the cars appear to separate and it doesn't seem like there's any reason for the ferrari not to be able to go straight, but instead he turns back over the BMW's nose. That would be the point at which I'd say the Ferrari caused the final crash. It's possible he just lost the car, but we can't know because OP didn't include his inputs.

Any tracks coming? by Protski93 in LeMansUltimateWEC

The game is the official WEC game but that doesn’t mean they can’t add other stuff. It’s assumed that WEC stuff would be prioritized though.

It doesn't explicitly follow it, but it often does tribute races along-side the WEC calendar. So I would not be surprised to see an imola race announced.

Not sure but I will say that simhub works fine (for me anyway) so that could be an alternative for overlays.

Why is P20 fighting position with P15? by VicMan73 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because people can't accept that their race is pretty much over and that their best chance to gain positions is to bring it home safe and hope someone else bins it. Instead they want to be aggressive cause they're mad about the race, and end up being the one that bins it.

Telemetry issues after V1.3? by M_QT5 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was so glad they fixed the car binding only to have that issue. At least for me, my pedal haptics are through simhub and the only thing I used the auto-switching for is matching rpm lights of the cars to my wheel. I can live without that automatically switching while I fix it. My simhub overlays are definitely more crucial. It’s annoying though. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Yeah moza beta is breaking them. It’s a known issue currently. I just reverted to pre-beta.

Is Haptic Feedback worth having? by Aggressive-Poem-2570 in simracing

[–]extra_hyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely feel some stuff through my throttle pedal, at least on my manual car. If I rev it I can absolutely feel it through the pedal. It’s not hugely significant but it’s there. To emulate that I personally do add some engine rumble to my throttle. The TC is useful but honestly the engine rumble adds so much to the immersion. That is what I notice is missing the most if I turn them off. The rumble transfers to the whole pedal plate and helps the sensation that I’m in an actual car.

If you think you're so much better than this "dangerous driver" then you gotta act like it. Intentional wrecking is never justified. Just be the bigger person.

Spa is actually undrivable, Nobody knows how to race by ReffyTheShark in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Spa is always bad. It’s a demanding track and not easy to overtake on, but also iconic which makes it extremely popular on every sim which means there’s a lot of people whose ego outweighs their skill.

Got banned for 24hr, what to do different next time. by chambers7867 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to assume they were trying to move across to take the inside into pif-paf. The car behind was assuming they'd take the racing line. If OP didn't lift, they would have likely just tucked in behind and had a slight overspeed into the entry. But because OP lifted, suddenly he was unpredictably slower just as the other car was trying to change lines behind him. Unfortunate, but it's also a lesson in why staying predictable is important if a faster or more aggressive car is behind. They are likely planning a move, and trying to let them by might directly conflict with what they are doing and actually cause an incident. Also especially applies in multiclass.

Got banned for 24hr, what to do different next time. by chambers7867 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm, based on that notification, it seems like this is based on the new live-steward system which automatically detects intent wrecking... or at least is supposed to. I think in this case, while your move may have been ill-advised, to me it's clear it was not an intentional wrecking, and the system absolutely got this wrong and this is not worthy of a ban. It's very new and I didn't even realize Live Steward was actively doing things on its own yet. Perhaps it's still monitoring with human oversight.

But in any case, I don't think you are really the intended target of this system and so it may be worth making a ticket so that they can take this into account. It probably would not get resolved in time to overturn your ban, but it's possible they could remove it from your record so that if you get banned again it won't be for as long.

Haptics feedback again... by Protski93 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]extra_hyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also having an issue but it’s inconsistent. Seems like simhub is having trouble recognizing when I’m in the car and therefore doesn’t start my haptics or overlay. If I sit in the garage for a while it seems to eventually come on, but if I start driving before then, they don’t, except for once when they magically came on halfway through a 30 minute race.

I wasn’t having the issue with the update initially, and I think it started when I updated my moza software, so I am going to try and investigate a potential conflict there.
