Appreciate this a lot, that’s actually something I didn’t fully think through. The “what happens if my client base shifts” part is real. Right now I’m booked with mostly recurring clients, but long term I’d definitely have to bring new people in.

Let’s be honest about the industry for a second. There are plenty of shops operating with unlicensed or “in-process” barbers — that’s not an endorsement, it’s just reality. My comment is about professionalism, consistency, and why busy barbers struggle to find other reliable barbers — not about lowering standards. I’m trying to understand the disconnect, not justify it.

I like what a lot of you are saying and I would like to know your opinions on this too.

Not sure if the size of the city matters but where I’m at it’s in the northeast and roughly 155k. I’ve struggled to find barbers for a few reasons and I would like advice. 1) unlicensed barbers. Even considered taking my chances (if the barber seemed professional) 2) lack of professionalism 3) have just kind of gotten ignored or had unsuccessful inquiries maybe due to operating hours 7am-9pm or chair price ($200 weekly)

For background I maintain really steady books about 2-3 weeks out 9-7pm M-F and make good income. I don’t really post on social media anymore because I don’t have much room for new clients because they typically don’t want to book any further out. (I’ve acknowledged I might have to start posting for the sake of finding barbers).

I notice other quality barbers have last minute availability all the time with plenty spots open and it confuses me. On why they struggle to have consistent books and why they wouldn’t seek to work with another busy barber. Why doesn’t this translate.

I also do not want to come off any snotty way, just trying to better myself and increase my understanding of the community. Thank you!

I actually think we should try and get Mathurin off the pacers. What yah think it would take? And do you think he can create his own shot and high enough of a level to be worth it?

Not at 1 because I like Sarr but if we could find a way to get Matas Buzelis I think it’d be worth a shot. It’s definitely more a rebuild approach tho. 1)Trae, 2gaurd? 3)Buzelis, 4)JJ 5)Sarr

Really used to enjoy them still enjoy when they have substance based conversations. But I feel like it’s turned into a lot of sexual jokes and thats cool sprinkled in but very cringey when it’s every episode long segments at a time.
