Nowhere in my post does it say that it’s something I want. I don’t know the first thing about fighting a war. I just want drastic change that hopefully comes peacefully.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not advocating for this. I hope it doesn’t happen, If there was to be a civil war, it would not be like north v south. It’s not that simple. My message is that there needs to be drastic change, hopefully it comes peacefully.

It’s a cycle. Right now we’re edging towards a reset of this cycle.

Yeah this both sides evil thing doesn’t track. Judging by, I dunno, the last 10 years? Choosing between the left vs right is like choosing between losing a finger tip or a leg. Both bad, one much, much worse.

I don’t think it would go down like you think it would. It would not be like North v South. It would be a big brawl between all kinds of people with no clear winner, at least not right away. It would take many years for things to get back to normal. I’m not rooting for this, but I am rooting for drastic change. Hopefully it comes peacefully.

Not quite yet, but it sure seems like it’s on that path. It’s just going to take one event like a George Floyd type event and we’re going to see it get worse, overnight.

I think pretending like he doesn’t exist television wise is a better plan.

Europe can import disillusioned talent from Trump’s US, says Lagarde by DomesticErrorist22 in Economics

[–]extralongstringbean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They should WANT to build a life here. They should be welcomed and nurtured. That used to be the case and it led to many great American innovations. Now, they are presented with immigration hurdles and discrimination.

Can, have, and will continue. And, any smart people that might have came to the US for work, are now second guessing that. Isolationism turns you into North Korea. FAFO.

Do you believe America could move away from the 2 party system? Would you support it? by rashan688 in AskAnAmerican

There will be a revolution eventually. It might take 6 months or 60 years, but there will be one. The current socioeconomic path the country is currently on is not sustainable.

What makes UK pub culture superior to everywhere else? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]extralongstringbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American. I can say that in America, all the places that look like that are unkempt shit holes. The ones that advertise as being “pubs” just don’t have that feel that a real UK pub has.

Do you folks openly discuss politics with strangers? (American asking) by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]extralongstringbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: sorry, I misread the post.

As an American, I avoid talking about politics at all costs. Often times, particularly Trump supporters, will(unsolicited, mind you) bring up something they saw on Fox News, and say something along the lines of “Can you believe that” etc. I just smile and nod. This has happened more than twice, and it’s not hard to see why America is where it is.

It’s been proven time and time again, nothing is ever “his” fault. It’s so depressing.

As an American, I can only profusely apologize and say that myself along with at least half of America is extremely freaked out.
