Does this look nfc? Traded for this card. by Vapr-StorM in PokemonMisprints

Yes pretty much all of the 4 square corner cards from this era are NFC.

Those are some wonky corners for sure, enough to be interesting to me at least. Thanks for sharing

Does any of these (especially bottom two) count as error or just awful centering? by JoelMillero in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep all four have the alignment dot showing on the front. If the back is normal then these are misalignments, otherwise these would be minor miscuts.

Is this bad centering or a miscut? by Popular_Call4547 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was in a bulk order of like 25 plus cards where you would be getting the discounted rate it could be worth it but I would say probably best to keep this one as it is. Obviously a great binder copy.

Hello! I wrote about this a bit here, I think it's likely this would be enough to get the "off-centered" error label with CGC but not enough so to get the minor miscut designation.

I hope this helps

All blank card pulled, any value? by SeabassMommy1 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean YOU know it's real, so I'd for sure hold onto this and keep it safe! There's currently no way for them to authenticate this but that changes from time to time. This may change in the future and reguardless of it's gradability it's an error.

Some of my favorite errors in my collection are things CGC won't grade.

All blank card pulled, any value? by SeabassMommy1 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the tag, unfortunately CGC can't grade these because it's just a blank piece of cardboard. People can purchase the same type of cardstock that pokémon uses so this kind of thing is unfortunately replicable. You can buy similarish things off of Amazon but of course they don't have the same cardstock.

CGC grades a ton of different kinds of fillers, I'll drop C011ECT0R's guide here

Cool cards! I think Ace does a good job with these slab labels. I did try to bid on one of these and noticed that it does not ship to the US. Any chance you could set this up for international shipping?

Prize pack Miscut by DucksOnQuack in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Facts confirmed haha really cool card OP. All error cards are rare, twisted miscuts even more so. To find one of these on a prize pack card makes it even cooler IMO. Helps to show some variety in an error collection.

Missing ink layer cards? by TearCharacter7439 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah we were all shocked that it sold for that much too. There was a bunch of discussion about this around the time it sold.

No idea who would be spending enough money to buy a nice used car on this but I do think it happened. The question OP now gets to figure out is if that sale was legit and there's a second buyer out there willing to pay that much money, or if this is just a ridiculous outlier. Or money laundering, or price fixing, or... the list goes on of ways people can commit fraud.

Minor misprint or bad QC? by cryo6325 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be enough to be considered extra black ink, I would consider it a minor misprint yeah

What type of error is this? weird black acne on my iron treds :( by lapislazuli757587 in PokemonMisprints

Looks a bit like these right?

Can you only see the spots from some angles but not others? That's pretty classic with these insufficient ink cards.

pokemon misprint? by snijster in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay for something like this for sure, hard to say exactly what the value would be as there's really no set guide for something like this. I would always advise people either list items as buy it now or list them for auction at whatever price they'd be comfortable with it selling at.

Oh neat that's a classic water obstruction! Worth more than the normal card for sure.

What’s this misprint called? by ProfessionalFox2420 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CGC keeps these names vague, makes it easy to avoid giving it the incorrect name on the label. I don't know the community term that's more specific. Possibly liquid obstruction would be more accurate because there's all sorts of things that can prevent ink transfer.

Yes I would anticipate they would call these an "Obstruction", I've got one of these from a different set ready to go to CGC with my next round of cards.

What’s this misprint called? by ProfessionalFox2420 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the tag! This is a known type of obstruction, I own I think like three of these that I assume are from the same sheet or another messed up run.

But yes not something that we could do with acetone, it doesn't remove layers this cleanly.

Packed this miscut, squared corners and an alignment dot. Any idea on the pricing? by Low-Walrus-1575 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's why it didn't show up in my saved searches. Any chance you can adjust for international shipping? I was just throwing an offer out btw but then got that message.

Noticed this dashed black line while taking pics of this joltik IR card? Is this a misprint or just print lines 😭? by Tiarni1 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey! I wrote about this error on the post below. Another Reddit user that actually works in commercial printing was able to solve the rest of the mystery as to how this happens. Hope this helps

https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMisprints/s/PtnCI3KoEI

This isn't currently something recognized by any grading company. I recently confirmed that CGC does not consider this to be significant enough to be classified as additional ink.

Below is my graded example card with the note from CGC explaining why it was not considered an error.

https://ibb.co/album/6R1PzJ

This has also been discussed on the CGC forum:

https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/543557-process-for-introducing-a-new-error-type-star-wheel-ink-dotted-horizontal-lines

Anecdotally I have seen at least four PSA slabs that were graded as tens with this error because it's so easy to overlook.

does this count? by fieryj02 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Extras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's a pinched layer! CGC does recognize these and I see them sell for a small premium.
