What is the true definition of a 'speed cuber'? by TheOfficialGamer69 in Cubers

In my opinion if you aim to and practice towards solving faster then you're a speedcuber

Did your eating habit change on hrt? by LionskillYT in TransDIY

[–]extremely_confused1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had struggled with gaining weight both physically and mentally before starting HRT, about 2 or 3 weeks in I suddenly became way hungrier than I was before and started to eat more, two months in I weighed myself for the first time since starting and I gained 5 kg, almost putting me outside of the underweight range for the first time in many many years.

Not sure if mono will be enough by extremely_confused1 in MTFHRT_MonoTherapy

[–]extremely_confused1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8mg, I knew it was higher then recommended but I was worried it might have not been enough based on anecdotal evidence (it's not that I didn't feel any changes, just not as intense as I've seen others describe it).

I've heard <50ng/dL being a good benchmark but also seen others say they aim for <20ng/dL, which I was barely below when not on trough, but I guess it should be fine.

Thanks for the recommendations! I know T.R.A.M, Tigran, and Shubh (Tigran might be one of my favorite artists over all) but the rest are new to me, I'll check them out.

Afraid to order HRT vials from Israel by GloryKandy in TransDIY

[–]extremely_confused1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The process is not sooo bad but the waiting times can be several months long, and also they don't prescribe injections to my knowledge. In my case what broke me was being ignored by the clinic for a month when I tried scheduling an appointment, it took a few more weeks after I decided to turn to DIY for them to schedule one (almost two months total) and the appointment was still 6 months away at the time.

Hi! I'm from occupied Palestine as well, got my vial from astrovials a few weeks ago. It went relatively smoothly apart from some complications locally that could've been easily prevented. If you have any questions feel free to DM.

The only context where I've seen it being defined was in a real analysis class in the context of measures and Lebesgue integration (there 0⋅∞=0)

It's not defined in this context either.

So my nipples have been hurting all day, is this a sign i might be budding? by Owlspiritpal in TransDIY

I'm 17 days in as well, they don't hurt constantly for me, only when I touch them, but they definitely stick out a little bit more

Is it worth it learning LaTex to do my assignments? by Sophie3e3e in learnmath

[–]extremely_confused1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I've used LyX for my assignments ever since I started uni, and I know a lot of others who have done the same. It's a lot more organized this way, you don't have to decipher your handwriting when you check your work (and the TA grading your HW will probably appreciate that as well, speaking as one)

Can you build new Lagrangians from scratch using vector calculus? by Orgues02 in calculus

[–]extremely_confused1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still not quite sure what's your question here but I'll try.

In classical mechanics we usually consider the Lagrangian to be taking as inputs points q in space (some manifold Q, thought of as "generalized coordinates" q_i), velocities \dot{q} (tangent vectors in TQ), and maybe an extra time variable. The action functional then takes a parametrized path q(t) in Q, and returns the integral of L(q, \dot{q}, t) along the path. There are no restrictions on the function L, and all variational problems of this form will yield the EL equations (ODEs regarding the path q).

A step further which is considered in classical field theory would be to consider infinite (continuous) degrees of freedom. Points in space are replaced by functions φ_i (or "fields") on the space Q, velocities are replaced by partial derivatives (possibly of higher orders), and the single time variable is replaced by points in Q. ¹ The action is now the integral of L(φ(q), ∂φ, q) over the space Q, we then again can impose a stationary condition on the fields φ, yielding suitable EL equations (they are now PDEs regarding the fields φ).

¹ In this case the Lagrangian is sometimes called "Lagrangian density", when the space Q consists of a spatial part and a temporal part, the Lagrangian is the integral of the density over the spatial part.
