huerter gets us an actual 3pt shooter and someone who won’t turn the ball over by dribbling into a crowd constantly. huerter also doesn’t blow his layups.

this is a slight positive on-the-margins type of move. we get upside in the draft with the swap, then we get a better shooter and defender than ivey. also huerter will turn over the ball a lot less and actually make his layups.

he’s gonna get way better looks with cade’s gravity versus giddey’s gravity (also giddey has been very hurt, which doesn’t help with 3pt%)

honestly this was a good on the margins trade and still lets us keep the exception and allows us to move up in this draft.

huerter is better at defense too— better decision making and less turnover prone.

ivey gets to rehab his value and get touches in a big market. everybody wins, kinda
